- Kapitel 50 -

This is also what Yahweh says: “You Israelite people, do not think that I forced your parents to be exiled to Babylonia like some men send away their wives after giving them a paper on which they state that they were divorcing them! I certainly did not get rid of you like a man who sells his children to get money to pay what he owes. No, the reason that I forced you to be exiled was to punish you because of the sins that you have committed.

When I came to you to rescue you, why did no one answer when I called out to you? Was there no one there to buy you back and take you home? Did you think that I do not have the power to rescue you? Think about this: I can speak to a sea and cause it to become dry! I can cause rivers to become deserts with the result that the fish in the rivers die from thirst and rot.

I cause the sky to become dark, as though it was wearing black clothes because it was mourning because someone had died.”

The Servant’s Obedience

(Matthew 27:27–31; Mark 15:16–20; Luke 22:63–65; John 19:1–15)

Yahweh our God has taught me to speak for him, in order that I may encourage those who are weary. Each morning he awakens me, in order that I may listen to what he teaches me.

Yahweh our God has spoken to me, and I have not rejected what he told me; I have accepted it.

I allowed people to beat me on my back and to pull out the whiskers in my beard because they hated me. I did not turn away from them when they made fun of me and spat on me.

But because the Lord Yahweh helps me, I will never be humiliated. Therefore I am determined to face difficulties, and I know that nothing will cause me to be ashamed.

God is near to me; he will show others that I have been right to trust him, so if anyone stands in front of me and accuses me in a court, he will not be able to show that I have done anything that is wrong.

Lord Yahweh defends me in court, so no one will be able to condemn me. All those who accuse me will disappear like old clothes that have been eaten by moths.

If you honor Yahweh and do what his servant tells you to do, even if you are walking in darkness, and it seems that there is no light, trust in Yahweh your God to help you; depend on him.

But you people who oppose me by lighting your own fires, and by carrying your own flaming torches: go ahead and live according to your own knowledge, according to what you think is best. Yahweh tells you what will happen to you: He will make you die in great torment!

Der Knecht, Israels Hoffnung

So spricht der Herr: Welches ist dieser Scheidebrief eurer Mutter, mit dem ich sie entlassen habe? Oder wer ist mein Gläubiger, dem ich euch verkauft habe? Sehet, um eurer Missetaten willen seid ihr verkauft worden und um eurer Frevel willen habe ich eure Mutter verstoßen.

Denn ich kam und da war kein Mann, ich rief und niemand war da, der hörte! Ist etwa meine Hand verkürzt und zu klein geworden, dass ich nicht erlösen könnte? Oder habe ich keine Kraft zum befreien? Sehet, durch mein Dräuen trockne ich das Meer aus, wandle Flüsse in trockenes Land und es faulen die Fische aus Mangel an Wasser und sterben vor Durst.

Ich kleide die Himmel in Finsternis und mache ein Trauerkleid zu ihrer Hülle!

Der Herr gab mir eine beredte Zunge, dass ich den, der müde ist, durch das Wort zu stärken wisse; er weckt morgens, morgens weckt er mein Ohr, dass ich auf ihn aufmerke wie auf einen Lehrer.

Der Herr, Gott, erschloss mir das Ohr, ich aber widerstrebte nicht und wich nicht rückwärts.

Meinen Leib gab ich den Schlagenden hin und meine Wangen den Raufenden, mein Angesicht wandte ich nicht ab von denen, die mich beschimpften und anspien.

Der Herr, Gott, ist mein Helfer, darum wurde ich nicht zuschanden; darum machte ich mein Angesicht wie zum härtesten Felsen und ich weiß, dass ich nicht zuschanden werde.

Nahe ist, der mir Recht verschafft, wer will mir widersprechen? Lasset uns zusammen auftreten, wer ist mein Gegner? Er trete heran zu mir!

Sehet, der Herr, Gott, ist mein Helfer! Wer ist, der mich verurteilt? Sehet, alle werden aufgerieben wie ein Kleid, die Motte verzehrt sie.

Wer von euch fürchtet den Herrn und hört auf die Stimme seines Knechtes? Wer im Finstern wandelt und kein Licht hat, der hoffe auf den Namen des Herrn und stütze sich auf seinen Gott.

Sehet, ihr alle, die ihr Feuer anzündet und euch mit Flammen umgürtet, wandelt nur in der Glut eures Feuers und in den Flammen, die ihr entfacht habt! Von meiner Hand widerfährt euch dieses, in Qualen sollt ihr gebettet sein.
