- Kapitel 1 -

(3 John 1:1–4)

You all know me as the chief Elder. I am writing this letter to you believers, the congregation that I love so much. God has chosen you, and I love you because what we know about Messiah is true! Not only do I myself love you, but all those who know and accept the true message that Jesus taught also love you!

This is because all of us believe God’s true message. It is in our inner beings and we will continue to believe it forever!

God the Father and Jesus Christ, who is his Son, will continue to act kindly and mercifully toward us because they love us. They will enable us to have peace, because they truly love us.

Walking in the Truth

(John 8:30–47)

I am very happy because I have learned that some of you are living according to the truth that God has taught us. This is just what our Father commanded us to do.

And now, dear congregation, I beg you to obey what he has commanded us to do. This is why I am writing to you. What he commanded, that we should love each other, is nothing new; instead, it was when we first believed in Messiah that we learned that we should love each other.

This is what it means to love God and each other, we should obey what God commands us to do. What he commands us to do is love him and each other.

Beware of Deceivers

Many people who deceive others have left your congregation and have now gone out among other people in your area. They are the ones who refuse to believe that Jesus Christ became human. They are the ones who deceive others and oppose Messiah himself.

So be careful that you do not let those teachers deceive you! If you let them deceive you, you will lose the reward which we, together with you, have been working for, and you will not receive the complete reward of being eternally united to God!

Those who change what Messiah taught and do not continue to believe what he taught are not joined with God. But those who continue to believe what Messiah taught are joined with both God, our Father, and with his Son.

So when anyone comes to you who teaches something different from what Messiah taught, do not welcome him into your homes! Do not encourage him by greeting him or wishing him well in any way!

I say that because if you treat people like that as you would treat a fellow believer, you are helping them do their evil deeds.

Conclusion

(3 John 1:13–14)

Even though I have much more that I want to tell you, I have decided not to say it in a letter. Instead, I expect to be with you soon and talk directly with you. Then we can be completely joyful together.

Your fellow believers in the congregation here, whom God has also chosen, all greet you.

(3. Johannes 1,1-4)

Der Älteste der Elekta, der Herrin, und ihren Kindern, welche ich in Wahrheit liebe, und nicht ich allein, sondern auch alle, welche die Wahrheit erkannt haben,

um der Wahrheit willen, die in uns bleibt und mit uns sein wird in Ewigkeit.

Gnade sei mit euch, Erbarmen, Friede von Gott, dem Vater, und von Christus Jesus, dem Sohne des Vaters, in Wahrheit und Liebe!

In den Geboten Christi wandeln

(Johannes 8,30-47)

Ich habe mich sehr gefreut, dass ich unter deinen Kindern solche fand, welche in der Wahrheit wandeln, sowie wir das Gebot vom Vater empfangen haben.

Und nun bitte ich dich, Herrin! nicht als ob ich dir ein neues Gebot schriebe, sondern das, welches wir von Anfang an gehabt haben, dass wir einander lieben sollen.

Und dies ist die Liebe, dass wir nach seinen Geboten wandeln. Denn dies ist das Gebot, dass ihr, wie ihr es von Anfang an gehört habt, in demselben wandelt.

Hüte dich vor antichristlichen Betrügern

Denn viele Verführer sind in die Welt ausgegangen, welche nicht bekennen, dass Jesus Christus im Fleische gekommen ist. Ein solcher ist der Verführer und der Antichrist.

Habet Acht auf euch selbst, damit ihr nicht verlieret, was ihr erarbeitet habt, sondern vollen Lohn empfanget!

Jeder, der abweicht und nicht in der Lehre Christi bleibt, hat Gott nicht; wer in der Lehre bleibt, der hat sowohl den Vater als den Sohn.

Wenn jemand zu euch kommt und diese Lehre nicht bringt, so nehmet ihn nicht in das Haus auf, und bietet ihm keinen Gruß.

Denn wer ihm einen Gruß bietet, nimmt teil an seinen bösen Werken.

Der Abschiedsgruß des Johannes

(3. Johannes 1,13-14)

Wiewohl ich euch noch vieles zu schreiben hätte, wollte ich es doch nicht durch Papier und Tinte tun; denn ich hoffe, zu euch zu kommen, und von Mund zu Mund zu reden, damit eure Freude vollkommen sei.
