- Kapitel 50 -

The mighty one calls

The mighty God, even the Lord , hath spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof.(a)

Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined.

Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him.

He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people.

Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.

And the heavens shall declare his righteousness: for God is judge himself. Selah.

Hear, O my people, and I will speak; O Israel, and I will testify against thee: I am God, even thy God.

I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices or thy burnt offerings, to have been continually before me.

I will take no bullock out of thy house, nor he goats out of thy folds.

For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.

I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine.(b)

If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world is mine, and the fulness thereof.

Will I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats?

Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High:

And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

But unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, or that thou shouldest take my covenant in thy mouth?

Seeing thou hatest instruction, and castest my words behind thee.

When thou sawest a thief, then thou consentedst with him, and hast been partaker with adulterers.(c)

Thou givest thy mouth to evil, and thy tongue frameth deceit.(d)

Thou sittest and speakest against thy brother; thou slanderest thine own mother’s son.

These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether such an one as thyself: but I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes.

Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver.

Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God.(e)

Der Mächtige ruft

Ein Psalm Asaphs. Der Herr, der höchste Gott, redet und ruft die Erde auf vom Aufgang der Sonne bis zu ihrem Niedergange.

Von Sion strahlt seiner Schönheit Glanz aus.

Gott kommt und tut sich kund, unser Gott schweigt nicht; Feuer lodert vor ihm auf und um ihn her tobt mächtiges Sturmwetter.

Er ruft dem Himmel oben zu und ruft die Erde, um über sein Volk Gericht zu halten.

Versammelt ihm seine Heiligen, die bei Opfern einen Bund mit ihm schließen.

Die Himmel tun seine Gerechtigkeit kund, denn Gott ist Richter.

Höre mein Volk, ich will reden; Israel, ich will dir bezeugen: Gott, dein Gott bin ich!

Nicht um deiner Opfer willen stelle ich dich zur Rede. sind doch deine Brandopfer beständig vor mir.

Nicht nehme ich aus deinem Hause Farren noch Böcke aus deinen Herden.

Mein ist ja alles Getier des Waldes, die Tiere auf den Bergen und die Rinder.

Ich kenne alle Vögel des Himmels und die Zierde des Feldes ist mein Eigentum.

Wenn mich hungerte, würde ich es dir nicht sagen; denn mein ist der Erdkreis und was ihn erfüllt.

Soll ich denn das Fleisch der Stiere essen oder das Blut der Böcke trinken?

Bringe Gott als Opfer Lob dar und löse dem Allerhöchsten deine Gelübde

und rufe mich an am Tage der Drangsal, so will ich dich erretten und du sollst mich preisen!

Zu dem Sünder hingegen spricht Gott: Warum zählst du meine Satzungen auf und nimmst meinen Bund in deinen Mund,

während du doch Zucht hassest und meine Worte hinter dich wirfst?

Siehst du einen Dieb, so läufst du mit ihm und hältst Gemeinschaft mit den Ehebrechern.

Dein Mund fließt über von Bosheit und deine Zunge zettelt Betrug an.

Du sitzest da und redest wider deinen Bruder und legst dem Sohne deiner Mutter Fallstricke.

Solches tatest du und ich schwieg. Da meintest du in deiner Bosheit, ich sei dir ähnlich, aber ich will dich zur Rechenschaft ziehen und es dir vor Augen stellen.

Erkennet dies doch, die ihr Gottes vergesset! dass er euch nicht einmal hinwegraffe, ohne dass jemand zu retten vermag.

Ein Opfer des Lobes ehrt mich und dies ist der Weg, auf dem ich ihm das Heil von Gott zeigen will.
