- Kapitel 15 -

Then the word of Yahweh came to me and said,

“Son of man, how is a vine better than any tree with branches that is among the trees in a forest?

Do people take wood from a vine to make anything? Or do they make a peg from it to hang anything on it?

See! If it is thrown into a fire as fuel, and if the fire has burned both of its ends and also the middle, is it good for anything?

See! When it was complete, it could not make anything; surely then, when the fire has burned, then it still will not make anything useful.

Therefore, Lord Yahweh says this: Unlike the trees in the forests, I have given the vine as fuel for fires; I will act in the same way toward the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

For I will set my face against them. Though they come out from the fire, yet the fire will consume them; so you will know that I am Yahweh, when I set my face against them.

Then I will make the land into an abandoned wasteland because they have committed sin-this is Lord Yahweh’s declaration.”

Und es erging an mich das Wort des Herrn also:

Menschensohn! Was soll aus dem Rebholz werden unter allem anderen Holze, das unter den Bäumen des Waldes ist?

Soll man etwa davon Holz nehmen, um etwas daraus zu machen? Oder kann man einen Pflock davon fertigen, um irgend ein Gerät daran aufzuhängen?

Siehe, dem Feuer wird es zur Speise gegeben. Hat aber das Feuer seine beiden Enden verzehrt und ist auch sein mittlerer Teil zu Asche verwandelt, sollte es dann wohl noch zu etwas taugen?

Selbst als es noch unversehrt war, konnte man es zu nichts brauchen; wieviel weniger wird man nun, da das Feuer es verzehrt und verbrannt hat, etwas daraus machen können!

Darum spricht der Herr, Gott, also: Wie das Holz des Weinstockes unter den Bäumen des Waldes, das ich dem Feuer zum Verzehren bestimmt habe, so werde ich die Bewohner Jerusalems dahingeben.

Und ich werde mein Angesicht wider sie richten, so dass, wenn sie einem Feuer entkommen, sie ein anderes verzehren soll, und ihr sollt erkennen, dass ich der Herr bin, wenn ich mein Angesicht wider sie kehre

und das Land unzugänglich und öde mache, weil sie Treubruch begangen haben, spricht der Herr, Gott.
