- Kapitel 82 -

God presides in the divine assembly

God stands in heaven in a meeting of all the spirits whom he has placed in charge of what he created. He tells them that he has decided this:

“You must stop judging people unfairly; you must no longer make decisions that favor wicked people!

You must defend people who are poor and orphans; you must act fairly toward those who are needy and those who have no one to help them.

Rescue them from the power of the wicked people!”

Those rulers do not know or understand anything! They are very corrupt, and as a result of their corrupt behavior, it is as though the foundation of the world is being shaken!

I previously said to them, “You think you are gods! It is as though you are all my sons,

but you will die as people do; your lives will end as the lives of all rulers end.”

God, arise and judge everyone on the earth because all the people groups belong to you!

Gott präsidiert in der göttlichen Versammlung

Ein Psalm Asaphs. Gott steht da mitten in der Versammlung der Götter, inmitten der Götter halt er Gericht.

Wie lange wollt ihr ungerecht richten und auf die Person der Sünder Rücksicht nehmen?

Schaffet dem Dürftigen und dem Waisen recht, verhelfet dem Niedrigen und Armen zum Rechte!

Rettet den Armen und befreiet den Dürftigen aus der Hand des Sünders.

Sie sind ohne Einsicht und ohne Verstand, im Finstern gehen sie einher, es wanken alle Grundfesten der Erde.

Ich sprach: Ihr seid zwar Götter und insgesamt Söhne des Höchsten,

aber wie Menschen werdet ihr sterben und wie der Fürsten einer fallen.

Erhebe dich, o Gott! richte die Erde, denn du bist immerdar Herr über alle Völker.
