- Kapitel 131 -

I have brought my soul to rest

Yahweh, I am not proud; I do not deserve to achieve impressive things in life. I do not worry about problems that are too difficult for me to solve.

Instead, I am calm and peaceful in my inner being like a small child who no longer nurses but is happy to be with its mother. In the same way, I am peaceful within my inner being.

You, my fellow Israelites, confidently expect that Yahweh will do good things for you now and forever!

Ich habe meine Seele zur Ruhe gebracht

Stufengesang Davids. O Herr! mein Herz hat sich nicht erhoben und meine Augen sind nicht hoffärtig und ich gehe nicht mit Dingen um, die zu groß und die zu wunderbar für mich sind.

Fürwahr! demütig war mein Sinn, nicht erhob ich mich in Stolz. Wie ein entwöhntes Kind an seiner Mutter, so ist meiner Seele Lohn.

Hoffe Israel auf den Herrn von nun an bis in Ewigkeit!
