The sons of Jacob were Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun,

Dan, Joseph, Benjamin, Naphtali, Gad, and Asher.

Judah’s sons were Er, Onan, and Shelah. Their mother was the daughter of Shua from the Canaan people group. When Judah’s oldest son Er grew up, he did something that Yahweh considered to be very wicked, so Yahweh caused him to die.

Judah and his daughter-in-law Tamar had twin boys named Perez and Zerah. So altogether Judah had five sons.

The sons of Perez were Hezron and Hamul.

Zerah had five sons: Zimri, Ethan, Heman, Kalkol, and Darda.

One of the sons of Zimri was Karmi. Karmi’s son Achar caused the people of Israel to experience much trouble, because he stole some of the things that were to be destroyed because they were dedicated to God.

Ethan’s son was Azariah.

Hezron’s sons were Jerahmeel, Ram, and Caleb.

Ram was the father of Amminadab, and Amminadab was the father of Nahshon. Nahshon was a leader of the tribe of Judah.

Nahshon was the father of Salmon, who was the father of Boaz.

Boaz was the father of Obed, and Obed was the father of Jesse.

Jesse’s oldest son was Eliab. His other sons were Abinadab, Shimea,

Nethanel, Raddai,

Ozem. The youngest was David.

Their sisters were Zeruiah and Abigail. Zeruiah’s three sons were Abishai, Joab, and Asahel.

Abigail’s husband was Jether, a descendant of Ishmael, and their son was Amasa,

Hezron’s younger son Caleb had two wives. One of them, Azubah, gave birth to three sons, Jesher, Shobab, and Ardon. (The other wife’s name was Jerioth.)

When Azubah died, Caleb married Ephrath. Their son was Hur.

Hur was the father of Uri, and Uri was the father of Bezalel.

When Hezron was sixty years old, he married a daughter of Makir, who was also the father of Gilead. The son of Hezron and Makir was Segub.

Segub was the father of Jair. Jair’s army controlled twenty-three cities in the region ruled by Gilead.

But the armies of Geshur and Aram captured those towns controlled by Jair. They also captured the city of Kenath and the nearby towns; altogether they captured sixty towns. The people who lived there were all descendants of Makir, the father of Gilead.

Shortly after Hezron died, Caleb slept with Ephrathah, his father’s widow. She bore a son for Caleb, whose name was Ashhur. Asshur became the father of Tekoa.

Hezron’s oldest son was Jerahmeel. His sons were Ram, Bunah, Oren, Ozem, and Ahijah. Jerahmeel’s oldest son was Ram.

Jerahmeel had another wife named Atarah. Their son was Onam.

The sons of Ram, Jerahmeel’s oldest son, were Maaz, Jamin, and Eker.

Onam’s sons were Shammai and Jada. Shammai’s sons were Nadab and Abishur.

Abishur’s wife was Abihail. The sons of Abishur and Abihail were Ahban and Molid.

Nadab’s sons were Seled and Appaim. Seled did not have any children.

Appaim’s son was Ishi; Ishi’s son was Sheshan. One of Sheshan’s daughters was Ahlai.

Shammai's younger brother was Jada. Jada's sons were Jether and Jonathan. Jether did not have any children.

Jonathan's sons were Peleth and Zaza. Those were the descendants of Jerahmeel.

Sheshan did not have any sons; he had only daughters. He had a servant from Egypt whose name was Jarha.

Sheshan allowed his daughter to marry Jarha, and their son was Attai.

Attai was the father of Nathan. Nathan was the father of Zabad.

Zabad was the father of Ephlal. Ephlal was the father of Obed.
38
Obed was the father of Jehu. Jehu was the father of Azariah.
39
Azariah was the father of Helez. Helez was the father of Eleasah.

Eleasah was the father of Sismai. Sismai was the father of Shallum.

Shallum was the father of Jekamiah. And Jekamiah was the father of Elishama. Caleb's descendants:

Jerahmeel's younger brother was Caleb. Caleb's oldest son was Mesha. Mesha was the father of Ziph. Ziph was the father of Mareshah. Mareshah was the father of Hebron.

Hebron's sons were Korah, Tappuah, Rekem, and Shema.

Shema was the father of Raham. Raham was the father of Jorkeam. Rekem was the father of Shammai.

Shammai was the father of Maon. Maon was the father of Beth Zur.

Caleb had a slave wife who was named Ephah. Caleb and Ephah's sons were Haran, Moza, and Gazez. Haran had a son whom he also named Gazez.

Ephah's father was Jahdai. Jahdai was the father of six sons: Regem, Jotham, Geshan, Pelet, Ephah, and Shaaph.

Caleb had another slave wife whose name was Maacah. Caleb and Maacah's sons were Sheber, Tirhanah,

Shaaph, and Sheva. Shaaph was the father of Madmannah. Sheva was the father of Makbenah and Gibea. Caleb's daughter was Aksah.

These people were also descendants of Caleb: Caleb had another wife whose name was Ephrathah. Their oldest son was Hur. Hur's sons were Shobal, Salma, and Hareph. Shobal started the city of Kiriath Jearim.

Salma started the city of Bethlehem. Hareph started the city of Beth Gader.

Shobal's descendants were Haroeh, and half of the Manahath people group.

His descendants also included these clans that lived in Kiriath Jearim: Ithri, Put, Shumath, and Mishra. The clans of Zorath and Eshtaol were descendants of the clan of Mishra.

Salma's descendants in Bethlehem were the Netophath clan, the clan of Atroth Beth Joab, the other half of the clan of Manahath, and the clan of Zor.

Salma's descendants also included the families in the city of Jabez who wrote and copied important documents. These were the clan of Tirath, the clan of Shimeath, and the clan of Sucath. They were all from the Kenite people group who came from the city of Hammath, and who had married members of the family of Rekab.

Die Söhne Judas: Her, Onan und Sela; diese drei wurden ihm geboren von der Tochter Sues, der Chananiterin. Aber Her, der Erstgeborne des Judas, war böse vor dem Herrn und dieser tötete ihn.

Thamar aber, seine Schwiegertochter, gebar ihm den Phares und Zara. Alle Söhne Judas waren also fünf.

Die Söhne Phares aber sind: Hesron und Hamul.

Und die Söhne Zaras: Zamri, Ethan, Eman, Chalchal, Dara, zusammen fünf.

Die Söhne Charmis: Achar, welcher über Israel Unglück brachte und sündigte, indem er das Gebannte stahl.
8
Die Söhne Ethans: Azarias.
9
Die Söhne Hesrons, welche ihm geboren wurden: Jerameel, Ram und Kalubi.

Ram aber zeugte Aminadab; Aminadab zeugte Nahasson, den Fürsten der Söhne Judas.

Nahasson zeugte Salma, von welchem Booz abstammte.
12
Booz aber zeugte Obed, der Isai zeugte.

Isai aber zeugte Eliab als Erstgeborenen, Abinadab als zweiten, Simmaa als dritten,

Nathanael, als vierten, Raddai als fünften,
15
Asom als sechsten, David als siebenten.

Ihre Schwestern waren Sarvia und Abigail. Die Söhne Sarvias: Abisai, Joab und Asael, drei.

Abigail aber gebar Amasa, dessen Vater Jether, der Ismahelit, war.

Das Geschlecht der Hezron

Und Kaleb der Sohn Hesrons, nahm ein Weib, namens Azuba, mit welcher er Jerioth zeugte, und seine Söhne waren Jaser, Sobab und Ardon.

Als Azuba gestorben, nahm Kaleb Ephrata zum Weibe, die ihm Hur gebar.
20
Hur aber zeugte Uri und Uri zeugte Bezeleel.
21
Darnach vermählte sich Hesron mit der Tochter Machirs, des Vaters Galaads, und er nahm sie, als er sechzig Jahre alt war; diese gebar ihm Segub.
22
Segub aber zeugte den Jair; dieser besaß dreiundzwanzig Städte im Lande Galaad.
23
Und die Gessuriter und Aramiter nahmen die Städte Jairs weg und Kanath und die dazu gehörigen Dörfer, sechzig Städte; alle diese waren Söhne Machirs, des Vaters Galaads.

Als aber Hesron gestorben war, nahm Kaleb Ephratha zum Weibe. Hesron hatte auch Abia zum Weibe, die ihm den Ashur, den Vater von Thekua, gebar.

Das Geschlecht Jerahmeels

Jerameel, dem Erstgeborenen Hesrons, wurden diese Söhne geboren: Ram, sein Erstgeborener, Buna, Aram, Asom und Achia.

Und Jerameel hatte noch ein anderes Weib, namens Atara; diese war die Mutter Onams.

Die Söhne Rams aber, des Erstgeborenen Jerameels, waren: Moos, Jamin, und Achar.

Onam aber hatte zu Söhnen Semei und Jada. Die Söhne Semeis waren: Nadab und Abisur.

Der Name des Weibes Abisurs war Abihail, welche ihm Ahobban und Molid gebar.

Und die Söhne Nadabs waren Saled und Apphaim. Saled aber starb ohne Kinder.
31
Der Sohn Apphaims war Jesi, welcher den Sesan zeugte. Und Sesan zeugte Oholai.
32
Die Söhne Jadas aber, des Bruders Semeis, waren: Jether und Jonathan. Aber auch Jether starb ohne Kinder.
33
Und Jonathan zeugte Phaleth und Ziza. Diese waren die Söhne Jerameels.
34
Sesan hatte keine Söhne, sondern Töchter; er hatte aber einen ägyptischen Knecht namens Jeraa.
35
Diesem gab er seine Tochter zum Weibe, welche ihm Ethei gebar.

Ethei aber zeugte Nathan, Nathan zeugte Zabad.

Zabad zeugte Ophlal, Ophlal zeugte Obed,

Obed zeugte Jehu, Jehu zeugte Azarias,
39
Azarias zeugte Helles, Helles zeugte Elasa,

Elasa zeugte Sisamoi, Sisamoi zeugte Sellum,

Sellum zeugte Ikamia, Ikamia aber zeugte Elisama.

Die Familie von Kaleb

Und die Söhne Kalebs, des Bruders Jerameels, waren: Mesa, sein Erstgeborener, das ist der Vater von Ziph, und die Söhne Maresas, des Vaters Hebrons.

Und die Söhne Hebrons: Kore, Taphua, Rekem und Samma.

Samma zeugte Raham, den Vater Jerkaams, und Rekem zeugte Sammai.

Der Sohn Sammais war Maon und Maon war der Vater von Bethsur.

Aber Epha, die Nebenfrau Kalebs, gebar Haran, Mosa und Gezez. Und Haran zeugte Gezez.
47
Die Söhne Jahaddais waren: Regom, Joathan, Gesan, Phalet, Epha und Saaph.

Die Nebenfrau Kalebs, Maacha, gebar Saber und Tharana.
49
Und Saaph, der Vater Madmenas, zeugte Sue, den Vater Machbenas und den Vater Gabaas. Die Tochter Kalebs aber war Achsa.

Diese waren die Söhne Kalebs, des Sohnes Hurs, des Erstgeborenen Ephratas: Sobal, der Vater von Kariathiarim,

Salma, der Vater von Bethlehem, Hariph, der Vater von Bethgader.

Und Sobal, der Vater von Kariathiarim, hatte Söhne und er sah die Hälfte der Ruhe.

Zu der Verwandtschaft von Kariathiarim gehörten die Jethriter, Aphuthiter, Semathiter und Maseriter. Von diesen sind die Saraiter und Esthaoliter ausgegangen.

Die Söhne Salmas: Bethlehem, die Netophathiter, die Kronen vom Hause Joab und die Hälfte der Niederlassung von Sarai.
55
Auch die Geschlechter der Schriftgelehrten, die zu Jabes wohnten, die Sänger und Spieler und Zeltbewohner. Das sind die Kiniter, die von Kalor, dem Vater des Hauses Rechab, gekommen sind.
