- Kapitel 11 -

(Zechariah 9:9–13; Matthew 21:1–11; Luke 19:28–40; John 12:12–19)

And when they came nigh to Jerusalem, unto Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount of Olives, he sendeth forth two of his disciples,

And saith unto them, Go your way into the village over against you: and as soon as ye be entered into it, ye shall find a colt tied, whereon never man sat; loose him, and bring him.

And if any man say unto you, Why do ye this? say ye that the Lord hath need of him; and straightway he will send him hither.

And they went their way, and found the colt tied by the door without in a place where two ways met; and they loose him.

And certain of them that stood there said unto them, What do ye, loosing the colt?

And they said unto them even as Jesus had commanded: and they let them go.

And they brought the colt to Jesus, and cast their garments on him; and he sat upon him.

And many spread their garments in the way: and others cut down branches off the trees, and strawed them in the way.

And they that went before, and they that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna; Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord:

Blessed be the kingdom of our father David, that cometh in the name of the Lord: Hosanna in the highest.

And Jesus entered into Jerusalem, and into the temple: and when he had looked round about upon all things, and now the eventide was come, he went out unto Bethany with the twelve.

Jesus Curses the Fig Tree

(Matthew 21:18–22; Mark 11:20–25)

And on the morrow, when they were come from Bethany, he was hungry:

And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet.

And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it.

Jesus Cleanses the Temple

(Matthew 21:12–17; Luke 19:45–48; John 2:12–25)

And they come to Jerusalem: and Jesus went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves;

And would not suffer that any man should carry any vessel through the temple.

And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of thieves.

And the scribes and chief priests heard it, and sought how they might destroy him: for they feared him, because all the people was astonished at his doctrine.

And when even was come, he went out of the city.

The Withered Fig Tree

(Matthew 21:18–22; Mark 11:12–14)

And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots.

And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away.

And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.

For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.

Jesus’ Authority Challenged

(Matthew 21:23–27; Luke 20:1–8)

But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.

And they come again to Jerusalem: and as he was walking in the temple, there come to him the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders,

And say unto him, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority to do these things?

And Jesus answered and said unto them, I will also ask of you one question, and answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things.

The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or of men? answer me.

And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say, Why then did ye not believe him?

But if we shall say, Of men; they feared the people: for all men counted John, that he was a prophet indeed.

And they answered and said unto Jesus, We cannot tell. And Jesus answering saith unto them, Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.

Der triumphale Einzug

Und als sie sich Jerusalem und Bethanien am Ölberge näherten, sandte er zwei von seinen Jüngern ab,

und sprach zu ihnen: Gehet hin in den Flecken, der da vor euch liegt, und sogleich, wenn ihr in demselben hineinkommt, werdet ihr ein Füllen angebunden finden, auf dem noch kein Mensch gesessen ist; bindet es los, und bringt es.

Und wenn euch jemand fragt: Was tut ihr? so saget: Der Herr bedarf seiner. Und sogleich wird er es hierher lassen.

Da gingen sie hin, und fanden das Füllen, angebunden an der Türe, draußen ab der Wegscheide; und sie banden es los.

Und einige von denen, die dastanden, sagten zu ihnen: Was tut ihr, dass ihr das Füllen losbindet?

Sie aber sprachen, wie ihnen Jesus befohlen hatte, und diese überließen es ihnen.

Da führten sie das Füllen zu Jesus, und sie legten ihre Oberkleider darüber, und er setzte sich auf dasselbe.

Viele aber breiteten ihre Oberkleider auf den Weg; andere hieben Zweige von den Bäumen, und streuten sie auf den Weg.

Und die vorangingen, und die nachfolgten, schrien und sprachen: Hosanna!

Hochgelobt sei, der da kommt im Namen des Herrn; hochgelobt sei das Reich unseres Vaters David, das da kommt! Hosanna in der Höhe!

Und er zog ein in Jerusalem, und ging in den Tempel. Und nachdem er alles ringsherum angesehen hatte, ging er, als bereits der Abend gekommen war, hinaus nach Bethanien mit den Zwölfen.

Der Feigenbaum verdorrt

(Matthäus 21,18-22; Markus 11,20-25)

Des anderen Tages aber, da sie von Bethanien fortgingen, hungerte ihn.

Und da er von ferne einen Feigenbaum sah, der Blätter hatte, ging er hinzu, ob er wohl etwas an ihm fände; als er aber zu ihm hinkam, fand er nichts als Blätter; es war nämlich nicht die Feigenzeit.

Und er hob an, und sprach zu ihm: Niemals mehr esse in Ewigkeit jemand eine Frucht von dir! Und seine Jünger hörten es.

Jesus säubert den Tempel

(Matthäus 21,12-17; Lukas 19,45-48; Johannes 2,12-25)

Und sie kamen nach Jerusalem. Und da er in den Tempel gegangen war, fing er an, die Verkäufer und Käufer im Tempel auszutreiben; und die Tische der Wechsler und die Stühle der Taubenhändler warf er um.

Und er ließ nicht zu, dass jemand ein Gefäß durch den Tempel hindurch trug.

Und er lehrte, und sprach zu ihnen: Steht nicht geschrieben: Mein Haus soll ein Haus des Gebetes heißen für alle Völker? Ihr aber habt es zu einer Räuberhöhle gemacht.

Als die Hohenpriester und Schriftgelehrten dies hörten, suchten sie, wie sie ihn verderben könnten; denn sie fürchteten ihn, weil das ganze Volk von Bewunderung ergriffen war über seine Lehre.

Da es nun Abend geworden war, ging er zur Stadt hinaus.

Die Lektion des verdorrten Feigenbaums

(Matthäus 21,18-22; Markus 11,12-14)

Und als sie des Morgens am Feigenbaume vorübergingen, sahen sie, dass er von der Wurzel an verdorrt war.

Da erinnerte sich Petrus, und sprach zu ihm: Meister! Siehe, der Feigenbaum, den du verflucht hast, ist verdorret.

Und Jesus antwortet, und sprach zu ihnen: Habet Glauben an Gott!

Wahrlich, ich sage euch, wer immer zu diesem Berge spricht: Hebe dich, und stürze dich in´s Meer! Und er zweifelt nicht in seinem Herzen, sondern glaubt, dass alles, was er sagt, geschehen werde; es wird ihm geschehen.

Darum sage ich euch: Alles was ihr immer im Gebete erbittet, glaubet, dass ihr es erhalten werdet, so wird es euch werden.

Vergebung und Gebet

Und wenn ihr stehet, um zu beten, so vergebet, wenn ihr etwas gegen jemand habet, damit auch euer Vater, der im Himmel ist, euch eure Sünden vergebe.

(Matthäus 21,23-27; Lukas 20,1-8)

Wenn aber ihr nicht vergebet, so wird auch euer Vater, der im Himmel ist, euch eure Sünden nicht vergeben.

Jesu Autorität wird in Frage gestellt

Und sie kamen wiederum nach Jerusalem. Und als er im Tempel umherwandelte, traten die Hohenpriester, die Schriftgelehrten und Ältesten zu ihm,

und sprachen zu ihm: Kraft welcher Vollmacht tust du dies? Und wer hat dir diese Vollmacht gegeben, solches zu tun?

Jesus aber antwortete, und sprach zu ihnen: Ich will euch auch ein Wort fragen; antwortet mir darauf, so will ich euch sagen, kraft welcher Vollmacht ich dies tue.

Die Taufe des Johannes – war sie vom Himmel, oder von Menschen? Antwortet mir!

Sie aber dachten bei sich, und sprachen: Sagen wir: Vom Himmel, so wird er sagen: Warum also habt ihr ihm nicht geglaubt?

Sagen wir: Von Menschen, so fürchten wir das Volk. Denn alle hielten den Johannes für einen wahren Propheten.

Daher antworteten sie Jesus, und sprachen: Wir wissen es nicht. Und Jesus erwiderte, und sprach zu ihnen: So sage auch ich nicht, kraft welcher Vollmacht ich dieses tue.
