- Kapitel 24 -

(Exodus 27:20–21)

And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

Command the children of Israel, that they bring unto thee pure oil olive beaten for the light, to cause the lamps to burn continually.(a)

Without the vail of the testimony, in the tabernacle of the congregation, shall Aaron order it from the evening unto the morning before the Lord continually: it shall be a statute for ever in your generations.

He shall order the lamps upon the pure candlestick before the Lord continually.

The Showbread

(Exodus 25:23–30; Exodus 37:10–16)

And thou shalt take fine flour, and bake twelve cakes thereof: two tenth deals shall be in one cake.

And thou shalt set them in two rows, six on a row, upon the pure table before the Lord .

And thou shalt put pure frankincense upon each row, that it may be on the bread for a memorial, even an offering made by fire unto the Lord .

Every sabbath he shall set it in order before the Lord continually, being taken from the children of Israel by an everlasting covenant.

And it shall be Aaron’s and his sons’; and they shall eat it in the holy place: for it is most holy unto him of the offerings of the Lord made by fire by a perpetual statute.

Punishment for Blasphemy

And the son of an Israelitish woman, whose father was an Egyptian, went out among the children of Israel: and this son of the Israelitish woman and a man of Israel strove together in the camp;

And the Israelitish woman’s son blasphemed the name of the Lord , and cursed. And they brought him unto Moses: (and his mother’s name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan:)

And they put him in ward, that the mind of the Lord might be shewed them.(b)

And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

Bring forth him that hath cursed without the camp; and let all that heard him lay their hands upon his head, and let all the congregation stone him.

And thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel, saying, Whosoever curseth his God shall bear his sin.

And he that blasphemeth the name of the Lord , he shall surely be put to death, and all the congregation shall certainly stone him: as well the stranger, as he that is born in the land, when he blasphemeth the name of the Lord , shall be put to death.

An Eye for an Eye

(Matthew 5:38–48)

And he that killeth any man shall surely be put to death.(c)

And he that killeth a beast shall make it good; beast for beast.(d)

And if a man cause a blemish in his neighbour; as he hath done, so shall it be done to him;

Breach for breach, eye for eye, tooth for tooth: as he hath caused a blemish in a man, so shall it be done to him again.

And he that killeth a beast, he shall restore it: and he that killeth a man, he shall be put to death.

Ye shall have one manner of law, as well for the stranger, as for one of your own country: for I am the Lord your God.

And Moses spake to the children of Israel, that they should bring forth him that had cursed out of the camp, and stone him with stones. And the children of Israel did as the Lord commanded Moses.

Pflege der Laubhüttenlampen

(2. Mose 27,20-21)

Und der Herr redete zu Moses und sprach:

Gebiete den Söhnen Israels, dass sie dir ganz reines und klares Olivenöl bringen, zur steten Besorgung der Lampen

außerhalb des Vorhanges des Zeugnisses im Zelte des Bundes. Und Aaron soll sie herrichten vom Abend bis zum Morgen vor dem Herrn, nach ewig für euch von Geschlecht zu Geschlecht geltender Vorschrift und Satzung.

Auf dem Leuchter von ganz reinem Golde sollen sie immerdar vor dem Angesichte des Herrn aufgestellt werden.

Das Brot der Stiftshütte

(2. Mose 25,23-30; 2. Mose 37,10-16)

Nimm auch feines Mehl, backe daraus zwölf Brote, auf jedes sollen zwei Zehntel kommen,

und schichte sie vor dem Herrn auf, je sechs und sechs einander gegenüber, auf den reinen Tisch;

und lege auf dieselben ganz reinen Weihrauch, dass dieses Brot zur Erinnerung an das Opfer für den Herrn diene.

An jedem Sabbate sollen die Brote gewechselt werden vor dem Herrn und andere von den Söhnen Israels empfangen werden, nach ewig geltendem Übereinkommen,

und sollen Aaron und seinen Söhnen gehören, dass sie dieselben an heiliger Stätte verzehren; denn sie sind etwas Hochheiliges von den Opfern des Herrn nach ewig geltendem Rechte.

Die Strafe für Gotteslästerung

Aber siehe, der Sohn eines israelitischen Weibes, den sie von einem Ägypter unter den Söhnen Israels geboren hatte, ging aus und geriet mit einem Israeliten im Lager in Streit.

Und weil er den Namen gelästert und ihm geflucht hatte, führte man ihn zu Moses. (Seine Mutter hieß Salumith, eine Tochter Dabris vom Stamme Dan.)

Und sie legten ihn in Gewahrsam, bis sie erkannten, was der Herr gebiete.

Dieser redete zu Moses

und sprach: Lasse den Lästerer hinausführen vor das Lager, und alle, die es gehört, sollen ihm die Hände auf das Haupt legen, und das ganze Volk soll ihn steinigen.

Und den Söhnen Israels sage: Ein Mensch, der seinem Gott flucht, soll seine Sünde tragen.

Und wer den Namen des Herrn lästert, soll des Todes sterben; die ganze Gemeinde soll ihn steinigen, er sei ein Eingeborner oder ein Fremdling. Wer den Namen des Herrn lästert, soll des Todes sterben.

(Matthäus 5,38-48)

Wer einen Menschen schlägt und tötet, soll des Todes sterben.

Wer ein Tier erschlägt, soll es ersetzen, das ist Seele für Seele.

Wer einem seiner Mitbürger einen Schaden an seinem Leibe zufügt, dem soll geschehen, wie er getan hat:

Bruch um Bruch, Auge um Auge, Zahn um Zahn soll er hergeben; denselben Leibesschaden, den er einem andern zugefügt hat, soll er selbst leiden müssen.

Wer ein Stück Vieh erschlägt, soll ein anderes dafür erstatten. Wer einen Menschen erschlägt, soll seine Strafe erdulden.

Gleiches Recht gelte unter euch, es habe ein Fremdling oder ein Bürger sich versündigt; denn ich bin der Herr, euer Gott.

Und Moses redete zu den Söhnen Israels; und sie führten den, welcher gelästert hatte, vor das Lager hinaus und steinigten ihn. Und die Söhne Israels taten, wie der Herr dem Moses geboten hatte.
