- Kapitel 7 -

And in the dayes of Ahaz, the sonne of Iotham, the sonne of Vzziah king of Iudah, Rezin the King of Aram came vp, and Pekah the sonne of Remaliah King of Israel, to Ierusalem to fight against it, but he could not ouercome it.

And it was tolde the house of Dauid, saying, Aram is ioyned with Ephraim: therefore his heart was moued, and the heart of his people, as the trees of the forest are moued by the winde.

Then sayde the Lord vnto Isaiah, Goe foorth nowe to meete Ahaz (thou and Sheariashub thy sonne) at the ende of the conduit of the vpper poole, in the path of the fullers fielde,

And say vnto him, Take heede, and be still: feare not, neither be faint hearted for the two tailes of these smoking firebrands, for the furious wrath of Rezin and of Aram, and of Remaliahs sonne:

Because Aram hath taken wicked counsell against thee, and Ephraim, and Remaliahs sonne, saying,

Let vs goe vp against Iudah, and let vs waken them vp, and make a breach therein for vs, and set a King in the mids thereof, euen the sonne of Tabeal.

Thus sayth the Lord God, It shall not stand, neither shall it be.

For the head of Aram is Damascus, and the head of Damascus is Rezin: and within fiue and threescore yeere, Ephraim shalbe destroyed from being a people.

And the head of Ephraim is Samaria, and the head of Samaria is Remaliahs sonne. If ye beleeue not, surely ye shall not be established.

The Sign of Immanuel

(Matthew 1:18–25)

And the Lord spake againe vnto Ahaz, saying,

Aske a signe for thee of the Lord thy God: aske it, either in the depth beneath or in the height aboue.

But Ahaz sayd, I wil not aske, neither will I tempt the Lord.

Then he sayd, Heare you nowe, O house of Dauid, Is it a small thing for you to grieue men, that ye will also grieue my God?

Therefore the Lord himselfe will giue you a signe. Beholde, the virgine shall conceiue and beare a sonne, and she shall call his name Immanu-el.

Butter and hony shall he eate, till he haue knowledge to refuse the euill, and to chuse the good.

For afore the childe shall haue knowledge to eschew the euill, and to chuse the good, the land, that thou abhorrest, shalbe forsaken of both her Kings.

Judgment to Come

(Micah 1:1–7)

The Lord shall bring vpon thee, and vpon thy people, and vpon thy fathers house (the dayes that haue not come from the day that Ephraim departed from Iudah) euen the King of Asshur.

And in that day shall the Lord hisse for the flie that is at the vttermost part of the floods of Egypt, and for the bee which is in the lande of Asshur,

And they shall come and shall light all in the desolate valleys, and in the holes of the rockes, and vpon all thorny places, and vpon all bushy places.

In that day shall the Lord shaue with a rasor that is hired, euen by them beyond the Riuer, by the King of Asshur, the head and the heare of the feete, and it shall consume the beard.

And in the same day shall a man nourish a yong kow, and two sheepe.

And for the abundance of milke, that they shall giue, hee shall eate butter: for butter and hony shall euery one eate, which is left within the land.

And at the same day euery place, wherein shalbe a thousand vines, shalbe at a thousand pieces of siluer: so it shalbe for the briers and for the thornes.

With arrowes and with bowe shall one come thither: because all the land shall be briers and thornes.

But on all the mountaines, which shalbe digged with the mattocke, there shall not come thither the feare of briers and thornes: but they shalbe for the sending out of bullocks, and for the treading of sheepe.

Jesaja wird zu König Ahas gesandt

Und es geschah in den Tagen Achaz, des Sohnes Joathans, des Sohnes des Ozias, des Königs von Juda, zogen Rasin, der König von Syrien, und Phakee, der Sohn Romelias, der König von Israel, heran gegen Jerusalem, um dasselbe anzugreifen; aber sie vermochten es nicht zu erobern.

Und man verkündete dem Hause Davids und sprach: Die Syrer haben sich niedergelassen auf Ephraim! Da erbebte sein Herz und das Herz seines Volkes, wie die Bäume des Waldes vor dem Winde erbeben.

Und der Herr sprach zu Isaias: Gehe hinaus Achaz entgegen, du und der zurückgelassen ist, dein Sohn Jasub, an das Ende der Wasserleitung des obern Teiches auf dem Wege zum Walkerfelde

und sprich zu ihm: Habe Acht, dass du ruhig bleibest; fürchte dich nicht und dein Herz zage nicht vor diesen beide Enden rauchender Feuerbrände, bei der Zorneswut Rasins, des Königs von Syrien, und des Sohnes des Romelia!

Dass Syrien und Ephraim mit dem Sohne Romelias einen bösen Anschlag wider dich gefasst haben und sprechen:

„Lasset uns gegen Juda hinaufziehen, ihm Schrecken einjagen und es an uns reißen und lasset uns in seiner Mitte den Sohn Tabeels als König einsetzen;“

spricht also der Herr, Gott: Nicht soll es zustande kommen und solches soll nicht geschehen;

sondern das Haupt Syriens sei Damaskus, das Haupt von Damaskus sei Rasin; und noch fünfundsechzig Jahre, so wird Ephraim aufhören, ein Volk zu sein.

Und das Haupt Ephraims sei Samaria, und das Haupt Samarias der Sohn Romelias. Wenn ihr nicht glaubt, so werdet ihr nicht bleiben!

Die Immanuel-Prophezeiung

(Matthäus 1,18-25)

Und der Herr redete weiter zu Achaz und sprach:

Erbitte dir ein Zeichen von dem Herrn, deinem Gotte, es sei in der Tiefe unten oder in der Höhe oben.

Achaz aber erwiderte: Ich werde um keines bitten und den Herrn nicht versuchen.

Da sprach er: So höret denn, Haus Davids! Ist es euch zu wenig, Menschen lästig zu sein, dass ihr auch meinem Gott lästig seid?

Deswegen wird der Herr selbst euch ein Zeichen geben: Siehe, die Jungfrau wird empfangen und einen Sohn gebären und man wird seinen Namen Emmanuel nennen.

Butter und Honig wird er essen, um die Zeit, da er weiß das Böse zu verwerfen und das Gute zu wählen.

Denn ehe der Knabe das Böse zu verwerfen und das Gute zu erwählen weiß, wird das Land, das du um seiner zwei Könige willen verabscheust, verödet sein.

(Micha 1,1-7)

Aber über dich und über dein Volk und über das Haus deines Vaters wird der Herr durch den König von Assyrien Tage herbeiführen, wie sie nicht gekommen sind seit der Zeit der Trennung Ephraims von Juda.

Und an jenem Tage wird es geschehen: der Herr pfeift die Fliege herbei, die am Ausfluss der Ströme Ägyptens ist, und die Biene, die im Lande Assur ist,

und sie werden herbeikommen und sich alle in den Talschluchten und in den Felsenklüften und in allen Gebüschen und den gesamten Höhlen lagern.

An jenem Tage wird der Herr mit dem gedungenen Schermesser, mit denen, welche jenseits des Stromes sind, mit dem Könige von Assyrien, das Haupt und die Haare an den Füßen und den ganzen Bart abscheren.

Und es wir an jenem Tage geschehen, dass ein Mann sich eine Kuh und zwei Schafe hält,

und wegen des Überflusses an Milch wird er Butter genießen; denn Butter und Honig wird jeder essen, der noch inmitten des Landes übriggeblieben ist.

Und es wird an jenem Tage geschehen, dass jeder Ort, wo tausend Weinstöcke im Werte von tausend Silberlingen standen, den Disteln und Dornen verfällt.

Mit Pfeil und Bogen wird man ihn betreten, denn Disteln und Dornen werden im ganzen Lande sein.

Und um alle Berge, die man mit der Hacke umzuhacken pflegte, wird keine Sorge mehr sein vor Disteln und Dornen, zur Weide für Rinder wird er dienen und zertreten werden durch das Kleinvieh.
