Masters, do to your servants that which is just and equal: knowing that you also have a master in heaven.

Be instant in prayer; watching in it with thanksgiving:

Praying withal for us also, that God may open unto us a door of speech to speak the mystery of Christ (for which also I am bound;)

That I may make it manifest as I ought to speak.
5
Walk with wisdom towards them that are without, redeeming the time.
6
Let your speech be always in grace seasoned with salt: that you may know how you ought to answer every man.

Greetings from Paul’s Fellow Workers

(Romans 16:21–23)

All the things that concern me, Tychicus, our dearest brother, and faithful minister and fellow servant in the Lord, will make known to you,
8
Whom I have sent to you for this same purpose, that he may know the things that concern you, and comfort your hearts,
9
With Onesimus, a most beloved and faithful brother, who is one of you. All things that are done here, they shall make known to you.
10
Aristarchus, my fellow prisoner, saluteth you, and Mark, the cousin german of Barnabus, touching whom you have received commandments; if he come unto you, receive him:
11
And Jesus, that is called Justus: who are of the circumcision: these only are my helpers in the kingdom of God; who have been a comfort to me.
12
Epaphras saluteth you, who is one of you, a servant of Christ Jesus, who is always solicitous for you in prayers, that you may stand perfect, and full in all the will of God.
13
For I bear him testimony that he hath much labour for you, and for them that are at Laodicea, and them at Hierapolis.
14
Luke, the most dear physician, saluteth you: and Demas.

Salute the brethren who are at Laodicea, and Nymphas, and the church that is in his house.

And when this epistle shall have been read with you, cause that it be read also in the church of the Laodiceans: and that you read that which is of the Laodiceans.

And say to Archippus: Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfill it.
18
The salutation of Paul with my own hand. Be mindful of my bands. Grace be with you. Amen.

Ihr Herren! Was gerecht und billig ist, gewähret den Knechten, da ihr wisset, dass auch ihr einen Herrn im Himmel habt.

Christliche Gnaden

Seid beharrlich im Gebete, und seid wachsam darin mit Danksagung.

Betet auch zugleich für uns, dass Gott uns eine Türe des Wortes auftuen möge, das Geheimnis Christi zu verkündigen (um dessen willen ich auch in Banden bin),
4
damit ich es kund tun möge, so wie ich es verkünden soll.
5
In Weisheit verhaltet euch gegen die, welche draußen sind, indem ihr die Zeit wohl benützet.
6
Eure Rede sei allezeit wohlgefällig, mit Salz gewürzt, so dass ihr wisset, wie ihr einem jeden antworten müsset!

Das, was mich betrifft, wird euch Tychikus alles kund tun, der geliebte Bruder und treue Diener und Mitknecht im Herrn,

den ich eben darum zu euch gesandt habe, damit er erfahre, wie es um euch steht, und eure Herzen tröste,

zugleich mit Onesimus, dem geliebten und treuen Bruder, welcher aus eurer Stadt ist. Alles, was hier vorgeht, werden sie euch kund tun.

Es grüßt euch Aristarchus, mein Mitgefangener, und Markus, der Geschwistersohn des Barnabas, wegen dessen ihr Weisungen erhalten habt; wenn er zu euch kommt, nehmet euch seiner an;

und Jesus, genannt Justus. Von denen, welche aus dem Judentume sind, sind diese meine einzigen Mitarbeiter für das Reich Gottes, die mir zum Troste gewesen sind.

Es grüßt euch Epaphras, der aus eurer Stadt ist, ein Diener Christi Jesu, allezeit besorgt für euch im Gebete, dass ihr vollkommen feststehen möget und vollendet in allem, was Gottes Wille ist.

Denn ich bezeuge ihm, dass er viel Mühsal hat um euch und um die, welche in Laodicea und in Hierapolis sind.

Es grüßt euch Lukas, der Arzt, der teure, und Demas.

Und wenn dieser Brief bei euch vorgelesen ist, so sorget, dass er auch in der Gemeinde von Laodicea vorgelesen werde; und dass ihr auch den von Laodicea leset.

Und saget dem Archippus: Habe Acht auf das Amt, welches du empfangen hast im Herrn, dass du es vollkommen verwaltest.
18
Gruß mit meiner, des Paulus, Hand. Seid eingedenk meiner Bande. Die Gnade sei mit euch! Amen.
