(Revelation 3:14–22)

For I would have you know, what manner of care I have for you and for them that are at Laodicea, and whosoever have not seen my face in the flesh:

That their hearts may be comforted, being instructed in charity, and unto all riches of fulness of understanding, unto the knowledge of the mystery of God the Father and of Christ Jesus:

In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

Now this I say, that no man may deceive you by loftiness of words.

For though I be absent in body, yet in spirit I am with you; rejoicing, and beholding your order, and the steadfastness of your faith which is in Christ.

Alive with Christ

(Ephesians 2:1–10)

As therefore you have received Jesus Christ the Lord, walk ye in him;

Rooted and built up in him, and confirmed in the faith, as also you have learned, abounding in him in thanksgiving.

Beware lest any man cheat you by philosophy, and vain deceit; according to the tradition of men, according to the elements of the world, and not according to Christ:

For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead corporeally;

And you are filled in him, who is the head of all principality and power:

In whom also you are circumcised with circumcision not made by hand, in despoiling of the body of the flesh, but in the circumcision of Christ:

Buried with him in baptism, in whom also you are risen again by the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him up from the dead.

And you, when you were dead in your sins, and the uncircumcision of your flesh; he hath quickened together with him, forgiving you all offences:

Blotting out the handwriting of the decree that was against us, which was contrary to us. And he hath taken the same out of the way, fastening it to the cross:

And despoiling the principalities and powers, he hath exposed them confidently in open shew, triumphing over them in himself.

Let no man therefore judge you in meat or in drink, or in respect of a festival day, or of the new moon, or of the sabbaths,

Which are a shadow of things to come, but the body is of Christ.

Let no man seduce you, willing in humility, and religion of angels, walking in the things which he hath not seen, in vain puffed up by the sense of his flesh,

And not holding the head, from which the whole body, by joints and bands, being supplied with nourishment and compacted, groweth unto the increase of God.

If then you be dead with Christ from the elements of this world, why do you yet decree as though living in the world?

Touch not, taste not, handle not:

Which all are unto destruction by the very use, according to the precepts and doctrines of men.

Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in superstition and humility, and not sparing the body; not in any honour to the filling of the flesh.

Nicht Philosophie, sondern Christus

(Offenbarung 3,14-22)

Denn ihr sollt wissen, welch große Sorge ich um euch und die in Laodicea, und um alle habe, die mein Angesicht im Fleische nicht gesehen haben,

dass ihren Herzen Zuspruch zu Teil werde, indem sie in Liebe unterwiesen werden, und zu allem Reichtume der Fülle der Einsicht gelangen, zur Erkenntnis des Geheimnisses Gottes, des Vaters, und Christi Jesu,

in welchem alle Schätze der Weisheit und der Erkenntnis verborgen sind.

Dies aber sage ich, damit euch niemand täusche mit hochfahrender Rede.

Denn wenn ich auch dem Leibe nach abwesend bin, so bin ich doch im Geiste bei euch, mich freuend, indem ich eure Ordnung und die Festigkeit eures Glaubens an Christus sehe.

(Epheser 2,1-10)

So wie ihr also Jesus Christus, den Herrn, angenommen habt, so wandelt in ihm,

festgewurzelt und auferbaut in ihm, und fest im Glauben, so wie ihr gelehrt seid, zunehmend in ihm mit Danksagung.

Sehet zu, dass euch niemand verführe durch die Weltweisheit und eitlen Trug nach der Überlieferung der Menschen, nach den Anfangsgründen der Welt, und nicht nach Christus,

denn in ihm wohnt die ganze Fülle der Gottheit leibhaftig,

und in ihm seid ihr erfüllt, der das Haupt aller Gewalten und Mächte ist;

Nicht Gesetzlichkeit, sondern Christus

in dem ihr auch beschnitten seid, nicht durch eine Beschneidung, welch mit der Hand geschehen, durch Hinwegnahme des Fleisches am Leibe, sondern durch die Beschneidung Christi,

indem ihr mit ihm in der Taufe begraben wurdet, und in ihm durch den Glauben an die Macht Gottes, der ihn von den Toten auferweckt hat, auch auferstanden seid.

Auch euch, die ihr tot waret in den Vergehungen und in der Vorhaut eures Fleisches, hat er lebendig gemacht mit ihm, indem er euch alle Vergehungen vergab,

da er den wider uns lautenden Schuldbrief der Satzungen auslöschte und ihn an das Kreuz heftend wegnahm;

und da er die Mächte und die Gewalten entwaffnet, stellte er sie kühnlich zur Schau, indem er sie im Triumphe ausführte in sich.

So soll euch denn Niemand richten wegen Speise oder wegen Trank, oder betreffs eines Festtages oder eines Neumondes oder Sabbats,

denn diese sind ein Schatten dessen, was zukünftig war; der Körper aber ist Christi.

Lasset euch von niemand verführen, der an Demut und Dienst der Engel Gefallen findet, indem er sich zu Dingen, die er nicht gesehen hat, versteigt, ohne Grund aufgeblasen von dem Sinne seines Fleisches,

aber nicht festhaltend an dem Haupte, von welchem aus der ganze Leib, durch Gelenke und Bänder verbunden und zusammengehalten, heranwächst zum Wachstum in Gott.

Wenn ihr also mit Christus den Anfangsgründen dieser Welt abgestorben seid, was stellt ihr noch Satzungen auf, als lebtet ihr in der Welt?

„Fasset nicht an, kostet nicht, berühret nicht!“

Dinge, welche doch alle durch den Gebrauch der Vernichtung geweiht sind, nach den Satzungen und Lehren der Menschen.

Denn haben diese auch den Schein von Weisheit durch selbstgewählten Gottesdienst und Demut und Schonungslosigkeit gegen den Leib, so dienen sie doch nicht in irgendetwas, was ehrenhaft ist, zur Sättigung des Fleisches.
