- Kapitel 13 -

(Daniel 7:1–8)

And I stood on the sand of the sea, and I saw a beast coming up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and ten crowns on its horns, and on its heads names of slander,

and the beast that I saw was like to a leopard, and its feet as of a bear, and its mouth as the mouth of a lion, and the dragon gave to it his power, and his throne, and great authority.

And I saw one of its heads as slain to death, and its deadly wound was healed, and all the earth wondered after the beast,

and they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast, and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who [is] like to the beast? Who is able to war with it?”

And there was given to it a mouth speaking great things, and slanders, and there was given to it authority to make war forty-two months,

and it opened its mouth for slander toward God, to slander His Name, and of His dwelling place, and of those who dwell in Heaven,

and there was given to it to make war with the holy ones, and to overcome them, and there was given to it authority over every tribe, and tongue, and nation.

And all who are dwelling on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Scroll of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world;

if anyone has an ear—let him hear:

if anyone [goes] into captivity, into captivity he goes; if anyone is to be killed with sword, it is necessary of him by sword to be killed; here is the endurance and the faith of the holy ones.

The Beast from the Earth

And I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and it had two horns like a lamb, and it was speaking as a dragon,

and all the authority of the first beast does it do before it, and it makes the earth and those dwelling in it that they will worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed,

and it does great signs, that fire also it may make to come down from the sky to the earth before men,

and it leads astray those dwelling on the earth, because of the signs that were given it to do before the beast, saying to those dwelling on the earth to make an image to the beast that has the wound of the sword and lived,

and there was given to it to give a spirit to the image of the beast, that also the image of the beast may speak, and it may cause as many as will not worship the image of the beast, that they may be killed.

The Mark of the Beast

And it makes all, the small, and the great, and the rich, and the poor, and the freemen, and the servants, that it may give to them a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads,

and that no one may be able to buy, or to sell, except he who is having the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

Here is the wisdom! He who is having the understanding, let him count the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man, and its number: six hundred sixty-six.

Das Tier aus dem Meer

(Daniel 7,1-8)

Und ich sah aus dem Meere ein Tier aufsteigen, das hatte sieben Häupter und zehn Hörner, und auf seinen Hörnern zehn Diademe, und auf seinen Häuptern Namen der Lästerung.

Und das Tier, das ich sah, war einem Panther ähnlich und seine Füße wie Füße eines Bären, sein Rachen wie der Rachen eines Löwen. Und der Drache gab ihm seine Macht und große Gewalt.

Und ich sah eines von seinen Häuptern wie zum Tode verwundet, aber seine Todeswunde ward geheilt. Und bewundernd folgte die ganze Erde dem Tiere nach.

Und sie beteten den Drachen an, der die Gewalt dem Tiere gegeben, und sie beteten das Tier an, indem sie sprachen: Wer ist dem Tiere ähnlich? Und wer vermag mit ihm zu kämpfen?

Und es ward ihm ein Maul gegeben, groß zu sprechen und Lästerungen auszustoßen; auch ward ihm Gewalt gegeben, so zu tun zweiundvierzig Monate lang.

Und es tat sein Maul auf zu Lästerungen gegen Gott, seinen Namen zu lästern, und sein Gezelt, und die Bewohner des Himmels.

Auch ward es ihm gegeben, Krieg zu führen mit den Heiligen und sie zu überwinden. Und es ward ihm Gewalt gegeben über alle Stämme und Völker, und Zungen und Nationen.

Und alle Bewohner der Erde beteten es an, deren Namen nicht geschrieben stehen im Lebensbuche des Lammes, welches geschlachtet ist von Anbeginn der Welt an.

Wer Ohren hat, der höre!

Wer in Gefangenschaft führt, soll in Gefangenschaft wandern; wer mit dem Schwerte tötet, soll durch das Schwert getötet werden. Hier ist die Geduld und der Glaube der Heiligen.

Das Tier aus der Erde

Und ich sah ein anderes Tier aufsteigen aus der Erde; das hatte zwei Hörner, ähnlich einem Lamme, und redete wie der Drache.

Alle Gewalt des ersten Tieres übte es unter dessen Augen, und es brachte die Erde und ihre Bewohner dazu, dass sie das erste Tier anbeteten, dessen Todeswunde geheilt worden war.

Und es tat große Zeichen, so dass es selbst Feuer vom Himmel auf die Erde fallen ließ vor den Augen der Menschen.

Und es verführte die Bewohner der Erde durch die Zeichen, welche ihm zu tun gegeben sind vor dem Tiere, indem es den Bewohnern der Erde sagte, sie sollten dem Tiere ein Bild machen, das die Schwertwunde hatte und wieder auflebte.

Und es ward ihm gegeben, dem Bilde des Tieres Geist zu verleihen, und dass das Bild des Tieres redet und macht, dass alle, die das Bild des Tieres nicht anbeten, getötet werden.

Und es bringt alle, Klein und Groß, Reich und Arm, Frei und Unfrei, dazu, ein Malzeichen auf ihrer rechten Hand oder an ihrer Stirn tragen;

und dass niemand kaufen oder verkaufen kann, außer wer das Malzeichen hat, oder den Namen des Tieres, oder die Zahl seines Namens.

Hier ist Weisheit. Wer Verstand hat, der berechne die Zahl des Tieres. Es ist nämlich die Zahl eines Menschen, und seine Zahl ist sechshundert sechsundsechzig.
