- Kapitel 8 -

(Exodus 29:1–9)

Afterwarde the Lord spake vnto Moses, saying,

Take Aaron and his sonnes with him, and the garments and the anointing oyle, and a bullocke for the sinne offring, and two rammes, and a basket of vnleauened bread,

And assemble all the company at the doore of the Tabernacle of the Congregation.

So Moses did as the Lord had commanded him, and the companie was assembled at the doore of the Tabernacle of the Congregation.

Then Moses said vnto the company, This is the thing which the Lord hath commanded to doe.

And Moses brought Aaron and his sonnes, and washed them with water,

And put vpon him the coate, and girded him with a girdle, and clothed him with the robe, and put the Ephod on him, which he girded with the broydred garde of the Ephod, and bounde it vnto him therewith.

After he put the brest plate thereon, and put in the breast plate the Vrim and the Thummim.

Also he put the miter vpon his head, and put vpon the miter on the fore front the golden plate, and the holy crowne, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

(Nowe Moses had taken the anointing oyle, and anoynted the Tabernacle, and al that was therein, and sanctified them,

And sprinkled thereof vpon the altar seuen times, and anointed the altar and all his instruments, and the lauer, and his foote, to sanctifie them)

And he powred of the anointing oyle vpon Aarons head, and anointed him, to sanctifie him.

After, Moses brought Aarons sonnes, and put coates vpon them, and girded them with girdles, and put bonets vpon their heades, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

The Priests’ Sin Offering

Then he brought the bullocke for the sinne offring, and Aaron and his sonnes put their handes vpon the head of the bullocke for the sinne offring.

And Moses slew him, and tooke the blood, which he put vpon the hornes of the Altar roud about with his finger, and purified the altar, and powred the rest of the blood at the foote of ye altar: so he sanctified it, to make reconciliation vpon it.

Then he tooke all the fatte that was vpon the inwardes, and the kall of the liuer and the two kidneis, with their fat, which Moses burned vpon the Altar.

But the bullocke and his hide, and his flesh, and his doung, hee burnt with fire without the host as the Lord had commanded Moses.

The Priests’ Burnt Offering

Also hee brought the ram for the burnt offring, and Aaron and his sonnes put their hands vpon the head of the ramme.

So Moses killed it, and sprinkled the blood vpon the Altar round about,

And Moses cut the ram in pieces, and burnt the head with the pieces, and the fat,

And washed the inwardes and the legges in water: so Moses burnt the ram euery whit vpon ye Altar: for it was a burnt offring for a sweete sauour, which was made by fire vnto the Lord, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

The Ram of Ordination

(Exodus 29:10–30)

After, he brought the other ram, the ram of consecrations, and Aaron and his sonnes layed their handes vpon the head of the ram,

Which Moses slewe, and tooke of the blood of it, and put it vpon the lappe of Aarons right eare, and vpon the thumbe of his right hand, and vpon the great toe of his right foote.

Then Moses brought Aarons sonnes, and put of the blood on the lap of their right eares, and vpon the thumbes of their right handes, and vpon the great toes of their right feete, and Moses sprinckled the rest of the blood vpon the Altar round about.

And he tooke the fat and the rumpe and all the fat that was vpon the inwards, and the kall of the liuer, and the two kidneis with their fat, and the right shoulder.

Also he tooke of ye basket of ye vnleauened bread that was before the Lord, one vnleauened cake and a cake of oiled bread, and one wafer, and put them on the fat, and vpon the right shoulder.

So hee put all in Aarons handes, and in his sonnes handes, and shooke it to and from before the Lord.

After, Moses tooke the out of their hands, and burnt them vpon the altar for a burnt offring: for these were consecrations for a sweete sauour which were made by fire vnto the Lord.

Likewise Moses tooke the breast of the ram of consecrations, and shooke it to and from before the Lord: for it was Moses portion, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

Also Moses tooke of the anointing oyle, and of the blood which was vpon the Altar, and sprinkled it vpon Aaron, vpon his garments, and vpon his sonnes, and on his sonnes garments with him: so hee sanctified Aaron, his garments, and his sonnes, and his sonnes garments with him.

Afterward Moses saide vnto Aaron and his sonnes, Seethe the flesh at the doore of the Tabernacle of the Congregation, and there eate it with the bread that is in the basket of consecrations, as I commanded, saying, Aaron and his sonnes shall eate it,

But that which remaineth of the flesh and of the bread, shall ye burne with fire.

And ye shall not depart from the doore of the Tabernacle of the Congregation seuen dayes, vntill the dayes of your consecrations bee at an ende: for seuen dayes, saide the Lord, shall hee consecrate you,

As hee hath done this day: so the Lord hath commanded to doe, to make an atonement for you.

Therefore shall yee abide at the doore of the Tabernacle of the Congregation day and night, seuen dayes, and shall keepe the watch of the Lord, that ye dye not: for so I am commanded.

So Aaron and his sonnes did all thinges which the Lord had commanded by the hand of Moses.

Aaron und seine Söhne werden geweiht

(2. Mose 29,1-9)

Und der Herr redete zu Moses und sprach:

Nimm Aaron nebst seinen Söhnen, ihre Gewänder, das Salböl, das junge Rind für das Sündopfer, die beiden Widder und den Korb mit dem Ungesäuerten,

und versammle die ganze Gemeinde vor dem Eingange des Zeltes.

Da tat Moses, wie der Herr geboten hatte; und als das gesamte Volk sich vor der Tür des Zeltes versammelt hatte,

sprach er: Dies ist es, was der Herr zu tun befohlen hat.

Alsbald ließ er Aaron und seine Söhne herbeitreten und ließ sie sich waschen;

sodann legte er dem Hohenpriester das linnene Unterkleid an, und umgürtete ihn mit dem Gürtel, bekleidete ihn mit dem himmelblauen Obergewande, und legte das Schulterkleid darüber,

das er mit dem Bande befestigte und mit dem Brustschmucke verband, in welchem Lehre und Wahrheit war.

Hierauf setzte er ihm die hohepriesterliche Kopfbedeckung auf das Haupt, und auf dieser befestigte er über der Stirne die durch die Weihe geheiligte goldene Platte, wie der Herr ihm geboten hatte.

Nun nahm er das Salböl und salbte damit das Zelt mit allen seinen Gerätschaften.

Auch besprengte er den Altar, ihn damit einweihend, siebenmal und salbte ihn samt allen seinem Fußgestell weihte er mit Öl.

Sodann goss er dies auf das Haupt Aarons, und salbte, und weihte ihn.

Auch ließ er dessen Söhne herzutreten, und bekleidete sie mit den linnenen Kleidern, und umgürtete sie mit den Gürteln, und setzte ihnen die priesterliche Kopfbedeckung auf, wie der Herr geboten hatte.

Alsdann brachte er den jungen Stier zum Sündopfer herbei; und nachdem Aaron und seine Söhne ihm die Hände auf den Kopf gelegt hatten,

schlachtete er ihn, und fing das Blut auf, tauchte den Finger darein, und bestrich damit die Hörner des Altares ringsum. Nachdem er so den Altar entsündigt und geweiht hatte, goss er das übrige Blut an den Fuß desselben.

Das Fett aber, welches die Eingeweide bedeckte, das Netz der Leber, und beide Nieren mit ihrem Fette verbrannte er auf dem Altare;

den Stier jedoch mit seinem Felle, seinem Fleisch und seinem Unrate verbrannte er außerhalb des Lagers, wie es der Herr geboten hatte.

Alsdann ließ er den Widder zum Brandopfer herbeibringen; und nachdem Aaron und seine Söhne die Hände auf den Kopf desselben gelegt,

schlachtete er ihn und goss sein Blut rings um den Altar.

Den Widder selbst zerlegte er in Stücke und verbrannte davon den Kopf und die Glieder und das Fett mit Feuer,

nachdem er zuvor die Eingeweide und die Füße gewaschen hatte; so verbrannte er den ganzen Widder auf dem Altare, weil es ein Brandopfer war, zum wohlgefälligen Geruche für den Herrn, wie er ihm geboten hatte.

(2. Mose 29,10-30)

Hierauf ließ er den zweiten Widder zur Weihe der Priester herbeiführen; und Aaron und seine Söhne legten ihre Hände auf den Kopf desselben.

Dann schlachtete ihn Moses, nahm etwas von seinem Blute, und bestrich damit das rechte Ohrläppchen Aarons, und den Daumen seiner rechten Hand, so wie auch die rechte große Zehe.

Hierauf ließ er die Söhne Aarons hinzutreten und strich etwas von dem Blute des geopferten Widders an das rechte Ohrläppchen eines jeden, an den Daumen der rechten Hand und die rechte große Zehe, das übrige goss er ringsum auf den Altar;

das Fett aber, den Schwanz, und alles Fett, welches die Eingeweide bedeckt, das Netz der Leber, und die beiden Nieren mit ihrem Fette, und das rechte Schulterstück sonderte er ab.

Dazu nahm er aus dem Korbe mit dem Ungesäuerten, der vor dem Herrn stand, ein ungesäuertes Brot, und einen mit Öl angemachten Kuchen, und einen Fladen, und legte sie auf das Fett, und das rechte Schulterstück.

Dann gab er alles mitsammen Aaron und seinen Söhnen, die es erhoben vor dem Herrn.

Hierauf nahm er es wieder aus ihren Händen und verbrannte es auf dem Brandopferaltare, weil es das Weiheopfer war, zum lieblichen Opfergeruche für den Herrn.

Und das Bruststück erhob er vor dem Herrn und nahm es als seinen Anteil vom Widder der Weihe, wie der Herr es ihm geboten hatte.

Nun nahm er das Salböl und das Blut, welches auf dem Altare war, und sprengte es auf Aaron und seine Kleider, und auf seine Söhne und ihre Kleider.

Und nachdem er sie mit ihren Kleidern geweiht, gebot er ihnen und sprach: Kochet das Fleisch vor dem Eingange des Zeltes und esset es daselbst. Ebenso esset die Brote der Weihe, welche im Korbe liegen, wie der Herr mir geboten hat, da er sprach: Aaron und seine Söhne sollen sie verzehren.

Alles aber, was von dem Fleische und dem Brote übrig bleibt, soll mit Feuer verbrannt werden.

Sieben Tage lang sollt ihr von dem Eingange des Zeltes nicht hinweggehen, bis zu dem Tage, an dem die Zeit eurer Weihe erfüllt ist; denn nach sieben Tagen endet die Weihe,

so wie es auch jetzt geschehen ist, dass die Gebräuche des Opfers erfüllt werden.

Tag und Nacht sollt ihr bei dem Zelte bleiben, die Anordnungen Gottes befolgend, damit ihr nicht sterbet, denn so ist es mir geboten.

Und Aaron und seine Söhne taten alles, was der Herr durch Moses gesagt hatte.
