- Kapitel 5 -

(Leviticus 4:1–35; Leviticus 6:24–30)

Also if any haue sinned, that is, If he haue heard the voyce of an othe, and hee can be a witnes, whether he hath seene or knowen of it, if hee doe not vtter it, he shall beare his iniquitie:

Either if one touche any vncleane thing, whether it be a carion of an vncleane beast, or a carion of vncleane cattel, or a carion of vncleane creeping things, and is not ware of it, yet he is vncleane, and hath offended:

Eyther if hee touche any vncleannesse of man (whatsoeuer vncleannes it be, that hee is defiled with) and is not ware of it, and after commeth to the knowledge of it, he hath sinned:

Either if any sweare and pronounce with his lippes to do euill, or to doe good (whatsoeuer it bee that a man shall pronounce with an othe) and it be hid from him, and after knoweth that he hath offended in one of these poyntes,

Whe he hath sinned in any of these things, then he shall confesse that he hath sinned therein.

Therefore shall he bring his trespasse offring vnto the Lord for his sinne which he hath committed, euen a female from ye flocke, be it a lambe or a she goat for a sinne offring, and the Priest shall make an atonement for him, concerning his sinne.

But if he be not able to bring a sheepe, he shall bring for his trespas which he hath committed, two turtle doues, or two yong pigeons vnto the Lord, one for a sinne offring, and the other for a burnt offring.

So he shall bring them vnto the Priest, who shall offer the sinne offring first, and wring the necke of it a sunder, but not plucke it cleane off.

After he shall sprinkle of the blood of the sinne offring vpon the side of the altar, and the rest of the blood shall be shed at the foote of the altar: for it is a sinne offering.

Also he shall offer the seconde for a burnt offring as the maner is: so shall the Priest make an atonement for him (for his sinne which hee hath committed) and it shalbe forgiuen him.

But if he be not able to bring two turtle doues, or two yong pigeons, then he that hath sinned, shall bring for his offring, the tenth parte of an Ephah of fine floure for a sinne offring, he shall put none oyle thereto, neither put any incense thereon: for it is a sinne offering.

Then shall hee bring it to the Priest, and the Priest shall take his handfull of it for the remembrance thereof, and burne it vpon the altar with the offrings of the Lord made by fire: for it is a sinne offring.

So the Priest shall make an atonement for him, as touching his sinne that he hath committed in one of these poyntes, and it shall bee forgiuen him: and the remnant shalbe the Priests, as the meate offring.

Laws for Guilt Offerings

(Leviticus 6:1–7; Leviticus 7:1–10)

And the Lord spake vnto Moses, saying,

If any person transgresse and sinne through ignorance by taking away things consecrated vnto the Lord, hee shall then bring for his trespasse offring vnto the Lord a ramme without blemish out of the flocke, worth two shekels of siluer by thy estimation after the shekel of the Sanctuarie, for a trespasse offring.

So hee shall restore that wherein hee hath offended, in taking away of the holy thing, and shall put the fift part more thereto, and giue it vnto the Priest: so the Priest shall make an atonement for him with the ram of ye trespasse offring, and it shalbe forgiuen him.

Also if any sinne and doe against any of the commandements of the Lord, which ought not to be done, and knowe not and sinne and beare his iniquitie,

Then shall he bring a ramme without blemishe out of the flocke, in thy estimation worth two shekels for a trespasse offring vnto ye Priest: and the Priest shall make an atonement for him concerning his ignorance wherein he erred, and was not ware: so it shalbe forgiuen him.

This is the trespasse offring for the trespasse committed against the Lord.

Das Schuldopfer

(3. Mose 4,1-35; 3. Mose 6,24-30)

Wenn jemand sündigt, indem er die Stimme des Beschwörenden anhört und Zeuge ist, weil er es entweder selbst gesehen, oder es sonst weiß, so wird er, falls er es nicht anzeigt, Schuld auf sich laden.

Wenn jemand etwas Unreines berührt, es sei ein von einem Tier getötetes, oder von selbst gestorbenes Wesen, oder irgend ein Gewürm, ohne an seine Unreinigkeit zu denken, der ist schuldig und hat gesündigt.

Und wer etwas von der Unreinigkeit an einem Menschen anrührt, irgend welche Unreinigkeit, infolge wovon man befleckt zu werden pflegt, ohne sich dessen bewusst zu werden, aber nachher es erkennt, der soll schuldig sein.

Wenn jemand schwört und mit seinen Lippen ausspricht, er wolle etwas Böses oder Gutes tun, und dies mit einem Eide und mit Worten bekräftigt, ohne sich dessen bewusst zu werden, nachher aber sein Vergehen erkennt,

so soll er Buße tun für die Sünde,

und ein Lamm oder eine Ziege aus der Herde darbringen, und der Priester soll für ihn und seine Sünde beten.

Wenn er aber nicht ein Stück Kleinvieh zu opfern vermag, so soll er zwei Turteltauben oder zwei junge Tauben dem Herrn darbringen, eine als Sündopfer, und die andere als Brandopfer.

Diese soll er den Priester übergeben, der zuerst die für das Sündopfer bestimmte darbringen und ihr den Kopf umdrehen soll, nahe bei den Halsfedern, so dass er am Halse hängen bleibe und nicht ganz abgerissen werde.

Sodann soll er etwas von ihrem Blute an die Seite des Altares sprengen; was aber übrig bleibt, soll er am Boden desselben herabträufeln lassen, weil es ein Sündopfer ist.

Die andere aber soll er als Brandopfer verbrennen, wie es dargebracht zu werden pflegt; und der Priester soll für ihn und seine Sünden beten, und es wird ihm vergeben werden.

Wenn aber seine Hand nicht zwei Turteltauben oder zwei junge Tauben zu opfern vermag, so soll er den zehnten Teil eines Epha feinen Mehles als Sündopfer darbringen; doch soll er an dieses kein Öl tun, noch Weihrauch darauf streuen, denn es ist ein Sündopfer.

Und er soll es dem Priester übergeben, der eine Handvoll davon nehmen und auf dem Altare verbrennen soll, zum Gedächtnis für den, der es dargebracht hat;

und er soll für ihn beten und ihn versöhnen, der übrige Teil aber soll ihm als Gabe zufallen.

Opfer mit Wiedergutmachung

(3. Mose 6,1-7; 3. Mose 7,1-10)

Und der Herr redete zu Moses und sprach:

Wenn jemand aus Versehen heilige Gebräuche übertritt und sich so an dem, was dem Herrn geheiligt ist, versündigt, so soll er für sein Vergehen einen fehlerfreien Widder aus der Herde darbringen, wie man solchen für zwei Sekel nach dem Gewichte des Heiligtums kaufen kann.

Auch soll er den Schaden, den er verursacht hat, erstatten und noch den fünften Teil darüber dazulegen, und soll es dem Priester übergeben, der für ihn beten und den Widder opfern soll, und es wird ihm vergeben werden.

Wenn jemand aus Unwissenheit fehlt und etwas von dem tut, was durch das Gesetz des Herrn verboten ist, und der einer Sünde Schuldige erkennt sein Vergehen,

so soll er einen fehlerfreien Widder aus der Herde dem Priester darbringen, nach der Größe und Schätzung der Sünde; und dieser soll für ihn beten, weil er unwissentlich gehandelt hat; und es wird ihm vergeben werden,

denn aus Versehen hat er wider den Herrn gesündigt.
