- Kapitel 5 -

And thou sonne of man, take thee a sharpe knife, or take thee a barbours rasor and cause it to passe vpon thine head, and vpon thy beard: then take thee balances to weigh, and deuide the heare.

Thou shalt burne with fire the thirde part in the middes of the citie, when the dayes of the siege are fulfilled, and thou shalt take the other thirde part, and smite about it with a knife, and the last thirde part thou shalt scatter in the winde, and I will drawe out a sworde after them.

Thou shalt also take thereof a fewe in nomber, and binde them in thy lappe.

Then take of them againe and cast them into the middes of the fire, and burne them in the fire: for thereof shall a fire come foorth into all the house of Israel.

Thus saith the Lord God, This is Ierusalem: I haue set it in the middes of the nations and countreyes, that are rounde about her.

And she hath changed my iudgements into wickednes more then the nations, and my statutes more then the countreis, that are round about her: for they haue refused my iudgemets and my statutes, and they haue not walked in them.

Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Because your multitude is greater then the nations that are rounde about you, and ye haue not walked in my statutes, neither haue ye kept my iudgements: no, ye haue not done according to the iudgements of the nations, that are rounde about you,

Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Beholde, I, euen I come against thee, and will execute iudgement in the middes of thee, euen in the sight of the nations.

And I will doe in thee, that I neuer did before, neither will do any more the like, because of all thine abominations.

For in the middes of thee, the fathers shall eate their sonnes, and the sonnes shall eate their fathers, and I will execute iudgement in thee, and the whole remnant of thee will I scatter into all the windes.

Famine, Sword, and Dispersion

Wherefore, as I liue, saith the Lord God, Surely because thou hast defiled my Sanctuarie with all thy filthinesse, and with all thine abominations, therefore will I also destroy thee, neither shall mine eye spare thee, neither will I haue any pitie.

The third part of thee shall die with the pestilence, and with famine shall they bee consumed in the middes of thee: and another third part shall fall by the sword round about thee: and I will scatter the last third part into all windes, and I will drawe out a sword after them.

Thus shall mine anger bee accomplished, and I will cause my wrath to cease in them, and I will be comforted: and they shall knowe, that I the Lord haue spoke it in my zeale, when I haue accomplished my wrath in them.

Moreouer, I will make thee waste, and abhorred among the nations, that are round about thee, and in the sight of all that passe by.

So thou shalt bee a reproche and shame, a chastisement and an astonishment vnto the nations, that are rounde about thee, when I shall execute iudgements in thee, in anger and in wrath, and in sharpe rebukes: I the Lord haue spoken it.

When I shall sende vpon them the euill arrowes of famine, which shalbe for their destruction, and which I will sende to destroy you: and I will encrease the famine vpon you, and wil breake your staffe of bread.

So will I send vpon you famine, and euill beastes, and they shall spoyle thee, and pestilence and blood shall passe through thee, and I will bring the sworde vpon thee: I the Lord haue spoken it.

Ein Schwert gegen Jerusalem

Und du, Menschensohn! nimm dir ein scharfes Schwert als Schermesser, dasselbe nimm und fahre damit über dein Haupt und über deinen Bart; sodann nimm eine Waagschale und teile die Haare ab.

Ein Drittel davon verbrenne im Feuer inmitten der Stadt, wenn die Tage der Belagerung um sind; ein Drittel nimm und zerhaue es mit dem Schwerte ringsum sie her, das letzte Drittel aber streue in den Wind und ich will das Schwert hinter ihnen zücken.

Sodann nimm eine kleine Anzahl davon und binde sie in den Zipfel deines Mantels,

und von diesen nimm wiederum einige und wirf sie in das Feuer und verbrenne sie im Feuer, davon wird Feuer ausgehen über das ganze Haus Israel.

So spricht der Herr, Gott: Dies ist Jerusalem, inmitten unter die Völker habe ich es gesetzt und ringsum dasselbe her die Länder.

Aber es hat meine Rechte verachtet, so dass es noch gottloser war als die Völker; und hat meine Gebote verachtet, schlimmer als die Länder ringsum es her; denn meine Rechte haben sie verworfen und sind nicht nach meinen Geboten gewandelt.

Darum spricht der Herr, Gott, also: Weil ihr schlimmer geworden seid als die Völker, welche um euch her sind, und nicht nach meinen Geboten gewandelt seid und meine Rechte nicht erfüllt habt, ja selbst nicht nach den Rechten der Völker, welche um euch her sind, gehandelt habt,

deshalb spricht der Herr, Gott, also: Siehe, ich will über dich kommen, ich selbst will in deiner Mitte Gericht halten vor den Augen der Völker

und ich werde an dir tun, was ich noch nie getan und wie ich auch nie wieder tun werde, wegen aller deiner Greuel.

Darum sollen die Väter in deiner Mitte ihre Söhne, und die Söhne ihre Väter verzehren und ich will an dir Gericht halten und alle deine Überreste in alle Winde zerstreuen.

Darum, so wahr ich lebe! Spricht der Herr, Gott, fürwahr, weil du mein Heiligtum durch alle deine Sünden und alle deine Greuel befleckt hast, will auch ich verheeren, mein Auge wird nicht schonen und ich werde kein Erbarmen zeigen.

Ein Drittel von dir soll durch die Seuche sterben und in deiner Mitte durch Hunger aufgerieben werden, ein Drittel von dir soll durch das Schwert ringsum dich her fallen und ein Drittel von dir will ich in alle Winde zerstreuen und das Schwert hinter ihnen her zücken.

So will ich meinen Grimm vollstrecken und meinen Zorn an ihnen stillen und daran Freude finden; sie sollen erfahren, dass ich, der Herr, es in meinem Eifer gesprochen habe, wenn ich meinen Zorn an ihnen vollziehe.

Und ich will dich zur Wüstenei und zum Gespötte machen unter den Völkern, die ringsum dich her sind, vor den Augen eines jeden, der vorüberzieht.

Du wirst ein Gegenstand der Schmach, des Fluches, der Warnung und des Entsetzens unter den Völkern werden, die dich umgeben, wenn ich an dir Gericht übe im Grimme, im Zorne und in grimmiger Züchtigung.

Ich, der Herr, habe es gesprochen. Wenn ich die schlimmen todbringenden Pfeile des Hungers auf sie entsende, die ich senden werde, um euch zu verderben, so will ich den Hunger über euch häufen und die Stütze des Brotes bei euch zerbrechen.

Ja, den Hunger und schlimme wilde Tiere werde ich wider euch senden, bis ihr vernichtet seid; und Seuche und Blut sollen bei dir hindurchziehen und ich will das Schwert über dich kommen lassen. Ich, der Herr, habe es geredet.
