- Kapitel 7 -

(1 Chronicles 17:1–15)

Afterwarde when the King sate in his house and the Lord had giuen him rest rounde about from all his enemies,

The King saide vnto Nathan the Prophet, Beholde, nowe I dwel in an house of cedar trees, and the Arke of God remayneth within the curtaines.

Then Nathan sayde vnto the King, Go, and doe all that is in thine heart: for the Lord is with thee.

And the same night the worde of the Lord came vnto Nathan, saying,

Goe and tell my seruant Dauid, Thus saieth the Lord, Shalt thou buylde me an house for my dwelling?

For I haue dwelt in no house since the time that I brought the children of Israel out of Egypt vnto this day, but haue walked in a tent and tabernacle.

In al the places wherein I haue walked with all the children of Israel, spake I one worde with any of the tribes of Israel when I commanded the iudges to feede my people Israel? or sayde I, Why build ye not me an house of cedar trees?

Nowe therefore so say vnto my seruant Dauid, Thus saieth the Lord of hostes, I tooke thee from the sheepecote following the sheepe, that thou mightest bee ruler ouer my people, ouer Israel.

And I was with thee wheresoeuer thou hast walked, and haue destroyed all thine enemies out of thy sight, and haue made thee a great name, like vnto the name of the great men that are in the earth.

(Also I will appoynt a place for my people Israel, and will plant it, that they may dwell in a place of their owne, and moue no more, neither shall wicked people trouble them any more as before time,

And since the time that I set Iudges ouer my people of Israel) and I will giue thee rest from al thine enemies: also the Lord telleth thee, that he will make thee an house.

And when thy daies bee fulfilled, thou shalt sleepe with thy fathers, and I wil set vp thy seede after thee, which shall proceede out of thy body, and will stablish his kingdome.

He shall buyld an house for my Name, and I will stablish ye throne of his kingdome for euer.

I will be his father, and hee shall bee my sonne: and if he sinne, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the plagues of the children of men.

But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I tooke it from Saul whome I haue put away before thee.

And thine house shall be stablished and thy kingdome for euer before thee, euen thy throne shalbe stablished for euer.

According to all these wordes, and according to all this vision, Nathan spake thus vnto Dauid.

David’s Prayer of Thanksgiving

(1 Chronicles 17:16–27)

Then King Dauid went in, and sate before the Lord, and sayde, Who am I, O Lord God, and what is mine house, that thou hast brought me hitherto?

And this was yet a small thing in thy sight, O Lord God, therefore thou hast spoken also of thy seruants house for a great while: but doth this appertaine to man, O Lord God?

And what can Dauid say more vnto thee? for thou, Lord God, knowest thy seruant.

For thy words sake, and according to thine owne heart hast thou done all these great things, to make them knowen vnto thy seruant.

Wherefore thou art great, O Lord God: for there is none like thee, neither is there any God besides thee, according to all that wee haue heard with our eares.

And what one people in the earth is like thy people, like Israel? whose God went and redeemed them to himselfe, that they might be his people, and that hee might make him a name, and do for you great things, and terrible for thy land, O Lord, euen for thy people, whome thou redeemedst to thee out of Egypt, from the nations, and their gods?

For thou hast ordeyned to thy selfe thy people Israel to be thy people for euer: and thou Lord art become their God.

Nowe therefore, O Lord God, confirme for euer the word that thou hast spoken concerning thy seruant and his house, and doe as thou hast sayde.

And let thy Name bee magnified for euer by them that shall say, The Lord of hostes is the God ouer Israel: and let the house of thy seruant Dauid be stablished before thee.

For thou, O Lord of hostes, God of Israel, hast reueiled vnto thy seruant, saying, I will build thee an house: therefore hath thy seruant bene bold to pray this prayer vnto thee.

Therefore now, O Lord God, (for thou art God, and thy words be true, and thou hast tolde this goodnes vnto thy seruant)

Therefore nowe let it please thee to blesse the house of thy seruant, that it may continue for euer before thee: for thou, O Lord God, hast spoken it: and let the house of thy seruant be blessed for euer, with thy blessing.

Der Bund Gottes mit David

(1. Chronik 17,1-15)

Es begab sich aber, als der König in seinem Hause wohnte und der Herr ihm Ruhe vor allen seinen Feinden ringsum verliehen hatte,

sprach er zu dem Propheten Nathan: Du siehst, dass ich in einem Zedernhause wohne, während die Lade Gottes unter Fellen steht?

Da entgegnete Nathan dem Könige: Alles, was du im Sinne hast, gehe hin und tue, denn der Herr ist mit dir!

Es begab sich aber in jener Nacht, siehe, da erging das Wort des Herrn an Nathan:

Gehe hin und sprich zu meinem Diener David: So spricht der Herr: Solltest du mir wohl eine stete Wohnung bauen?

Ich habe ja doch nicht in einem Hause gewohnt von jenem Tage an, da ich die Söhne Israels aus dem Lande Ägypten herausführte, bis auf diesen Tag, sondern wanderte in Hütte und Zelt.

Überall, wo ich mit allen Söhnen Israels durchzog, habe ich da zu einem von den Stämmen Israels, dem ich befohlen, mein Volk Israel zu weiden, so gesagt und gesprochen: Warum habt ihr mir kein Haus aus Zedern gebaut?

So sage nun meinem Diener David dies: Also spricht der Herr der Heerscharen: Ich selbst habe dich von dem Weideplatz, als du hinter den Schafen hergingest, genommen, dass du Fürst seiest über mein Volk Israel,

und ich bin mir dir gewesen überall, wo du wandeltest, und habe alle deine Feinde vor dir her getötet und habe dir einen großen Namen gemacht, gleich dem Namen der Größten, welche auf Erden sind.

Und ich will meinem Volke Israel eine Stätte bestimmen und will es daselbst pflanzen und es soll da wohnen und nicht mehr beunruhigt werden und die Kinder der Bosheit sollen es nicht mehr bedrängen wie vordem

von dem Tage an, da ich Richter über mein Volk Israel setzte, und ich will dir Ruhe verleihen vor allen deinen Feinden, und der Herr tut dir kund, dass der Herr dir ein Haus bauen wird.

Und wenn deine Tage vollendet sind und du zu deinen Vätern entschlafen bist, will ich dir einen Nachkommen erwecken, der aus deinen Lenden stammen soll, und will sein Königtum befestigen.

Er soll meinem Namen ein Haus bauen und ich werde den Thron seines Königtums fest gründen auf ewig.

Ich werde ihm Vater sein und er soll mir Sohn sein; wenn er etwas Böses tut, will ich ihn mit der Menschenrute strafen und mit Schlägen der Menschenkinder.

Aber meine Barmherzigkeit werde ich ihm nicht entziehen, wie ich sie Saul entzogen habe, den ich vor meinem Angesichte verstieß.

Und dein Haus soll beständig und dein Königtum bis in Ewigkeit sein vor deinem Angesichte und dein Thron soll fest stehen für und für.

Nach allen diesen Worten, und diesem ganzen Gesichte gemäß redete Nathan zu David.

Davids Danksagung an Gott

(1. Chronik 17,16-27)

Da ging der König David hin und ließ sich vor dem Herrn nieder und sprach: Wer bin ich, Herr, Gott! und was ist mein Haus, dass du mich bis hierher geführt hast?

Und doch schien auch dies noch zu wenig in deinen Augen, Herr, Gott! und du hast für das Haus deines Dieners in die ferne Zukunft eine Zusage gemacht; denn das ist das Gesetz Adams, Herr, Gott!

Was konnte also David noch weiter zu dir sprechen? du kennst ja deinen Diener, Herr, Gott!

Um deines Wortes willen und nach deinem Herzen hast du all dies Große getan, so dass du es deinem Diener kundtatest.

Darum bist du hoch erhaben, o Herr, Gott! denn es ist deinesgleichen nicht, noch ist ein Gott außer dir, nach alledem, was wir mit unsern Ohren gehört haben.

Welches andere Volk ist aber auf Erden wie dein Volk Israel, um dessenwillen Gott hingegangen ist, um es sich als Volk zu erlösen und sich einen Namen zu machen und große und furchtbare Taten für dasselbe auf Erden zu tun, vor den Augen deines Volkes, welches du dir aus Ägypten erlöst hast, das Volk und seinen Gott?

Denn du hast dir dein Volk Israel auf ewig bestätigt zum Volke und du, Herr, Gott! bist ihnen zum Gott geworden.

Darum, o Herr, Gott! lass die Zusage, die du deinem Diener und seinem Hause gegeben hast, in Ewigkeit bleiben und tue, wie du gesprochen hast,

damit dein Name verherrlicht werde in Ewigkeit und man sage: Der Herr der Heerscharen ist Gott über Israel! Und das Haus deines Dieners David wird feststehen vor dem Herrn;

denn du selbst, Herr der Heerscharen, Gott Israels, hast dem Ohre deines Dieners geoffenbart und gesagt: Ich will dir ein Haus bauen, darum hat dein Diener sich ein Herz gefasst, diese Bitte an dich zu richten.

Nun denn, Herr, Gott! du bist Gott und deine Worte werden Wahrheit sein, denn du hast deinem Diener diese freudenvollen Verheißungen gegeben.

Darum fange an und segne das Haus deines Dieners, auf dass es ewig vor dir sei; denn du, Herr, Gott! hast gesprochen, und durch deinen Segen wird das Haus deines Dieners auf ewig gesegnet sein.
