- Kapitel 7 -

(Luke 6:37–42; Romans 14:1–12)

“Do not judge, so that you may not be judged.

For with whatever judgment you judge, so shall you be judged; and with whatever measure you measure out, so shall it be measured back to you.

And how can you see the splinter in your brother’s eye, and not see the board in your own eye?

Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the splinter from your eye,’ while, behold, a board is in your own eye?

Hypocrite, first remove the board from your own eye, and then you will see clearly enough to remove the splinter from your brother’s eye.

Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not cast your pearls before swine, lest perhaps they may trample them under their feet, and then, turning, they may tear you apart.

Ask, Seek, Knock

(Luke 11:5–13)

Ask, and it shall be given to you. Seek, and you shall find. Knock, and it shall be opened to you.

For everyone who asks, receives; and whoever seeks, finds; and to anyone who knocks, it will be opened.

Or what man is there among you, who, if his son were to ask him for bread, would offer him a stone;

or if he were to ask him for a fish, would offer him a snake?

Therefore, if you, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your sons, how much more will your Father, who is in heaven, give good things to those who ask him?

Therefore, all things whatsoever that you wish that men would do to you, do so also to them. For this is the law and the prophets.

The Narrow Gate

(Luke 13:22–30)

Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate, and broad is the way, which leads to perdition, and many there are who enter through it.

How narrow is the gate, and how straight is the way, which leads to life, and few there are who find it!

A Tree and Its Fruit

(Luke 6:43–45)

Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves.

You shall know them by their fruits. Can grapes be gathered from thorns, or figs from thistles?

So then, every good tree produces good fruit, and the evil tree produces evil fruit.

A good tree is not able to produce evil fruit, and an evil tree is not able to produce good fruit.

Every tree which does not produce good fruit shall be cut down and cast into the fire.

Therefore, by their fruits you will know them.

Not all who say to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of heaven. But whoever does the will of my Father, who is in heaven, the same shall enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and perform many powerful deeds in your name?’

And then will I disclose to them: ‘I have never known you. Depart from me, you workers of iniquity.’

The House on the Rock

(Luke 6:46–49)

Therefore, everyone who hears these words of mine and does them shall be compared to a wise man, who built his house upon the rock.

And the rains descended, and the floods rose up, and the winds blew, and rushed upon that house, but it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.

And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them shall be like a foolish man, who built his house upon the sand.

And the rains descended, and the floods rose up, and the winds blew, and rushed upon that house, and it did fall, and great was its ruin.”

The Authority of Jesus

And it happened, when Jesus had completed these words, that the crowds were astonished at his doctrine.

For he was teaching them as one who has authority, and not like their scribes and Pharisees.

Richtet nicht

(Lukas 6,37-42; Römer 14,1-12)

Richtet nicht, damit ihr nicht gerichtet werdet!

Denn mit welchem Gerichte ihr richtet, werdet ihr auch gerichtet werden; und mit welchem Maße ihr messet, wird euch wieder gemessen werden.

Was aber siehest du den Splitter in dem Auge deines Bruders, und den Balken in deinem Auge siehest du nicht?

Oder wie sprichst du zu deinem Bruder: Wart, ich will den Splitter aus deinem Auge ziehen; und siehe, ein Balken ist in deinem Auge?

Heuchler! Ziehe zuerst den Balken aus deinem Auge, und darnach siehe, wie du den Splitter aus deines Bruders Auge ziehen kannst.

Gebet das Heilige nicht den Hunden, und werfet eure Perlen nicht vor die Schweine hin, damit sie dieselben etwa mit ihren Füßen zertreten, und sich umwenden, und euch zerreißen.

Fragt weiter, sucht, klopft an

(Lukas 11,5-13)

Bittet, und es wird euch gegeben werden; suchet, und ihr werdet finden; klopfet an, und es wird euch aufgetan werden.

Denn ein jeder, der bittet, der empfängt; und wer suchet, findet; und dem, der anklopft, wird aufgetan werden.

Oder ist wohl ein Mensch unter euch, der seinem Sohne, wenn er um Brot bäte, einen Stein darreichen wird?

Oder wenn er um einen Fisch bäte, wird er ihm etwa eine Schlange darreichen?

Wenn nun ihr, obgleich ihr böse seid, euren Kindern gute Gaben zu geben wisset; wie viel mehr wird euer Vater, der im Himmel ist, denen Gutes geben, die ihn bitten?

Alles also, was ihr immer wollet, dass euch die Leute tun, tuet auch ihr ihnen. Denn dies ist das Gesetz, und die Propheten.

Der schmale Weg

(Lukas 13,22-30)

Gehet ein durch die enge Pforte; denn weit ist die Pforte, und breit der Weg, welcher in das Verderben führt, und viele sind, die durch dieselbe eingehen. Amen.

Wie eng ist die Pforte, und wie schmal der Weg, der zum Leben führt; und wenige sind, die ihn finden!

An ihren Früchten werdet ihr sie erkennen

(Lukas 6,43-45)

Hütet euch vor den falschen Propheten, welche in Schafskleidern zu euch kommen, inwendig aber reißende Wölfe sind.

An ihren Früchten werdet ihr sie erkennen. Sammelt man etwa von den Dornen Trauben, oder von den Disteln Feigen?

So bringt jeder gute Baum gute Früchte; der schlechte Baum aber bringt schlechte Früchte.

Ein guter Baum kann nicht schlechte Früchte bringen, noch ein schlechter Baum gute Früchte bringen.

Jeder Baum, der nicht gute Früchte bringt, wird umgehauen, und in´s Feuer geworfen werden.

Also an ihren Früchten werdet ihr sie erkennen.

Ich habe dich nie gekannt

Nicht Jeder, der zu mir sagt: Herr, Herr! wird in das Himmelreich eingehen, sondern wer den Willen meines Vaters tut, der im Himmel ist, der wird in das Himmelreich eingehen.

Viele werden an jenem Tage zu mir sagen: Herr, Herr! haben wir nicht in deinem Namen geweissagt, und in deinem Namen Teufel ausgetrieben, und in deinem Namen viele Wunder getan?

Alsdann werde ich ihnen kundtun: Niemals habe ich euch gekannt; weichet von mir hinweg, ihr Übeltäter!

Baut auf den Felsen

(Lukas 6,46-49)

Jeder also, der diese meine Worte hört, und sie tut, ist mit einem weisen Manne zu vergleichen, der sein Haus auf einen Felsen gebaut hat.

Es fiel der Regen und die Ströme brachen herein, es wehten die Winde, und stürmten ein auf jenes Haus, aber es fiel nicht zusammen; denn es war auf einen Felsen gegründet.

Und jeder, der diese meine Worte hört, und sie nicht vollbringt, wird einem törichten Manne gleich sein, der sein Haus auf den Sand gebaut hat.

Es fiel der Regen, die Ströme brachen herein, es wehten die Winde, und stürmten ein auf jenes Haus, und es stürzte ein, und sein Fall war groß.

Und es begab sich, als Jesus diese Reden vollendet hatte, erstaunte das Volk über seine Lehre;

denn er lehrte sie wie einer, der da Macht hat, und nicht wie ihre Schriftgelehrten und die Pharisäer.
