- Kapitel 3 -

(Leviticus 7:11–21)

But if his oblation will be a sacrifice of peace offerings, and he wishes to offer it from the oxen, whether male or female, he shall offer what is immaculate, in the sight of the Lord.(a)

And he shall place his hand upon the head of his victim, which shall be immolated at the entrance of the tabernacle of the testimony. And the sons of Aaron, the priests, shall pour the blood all around the altar.

And they shall offer from the sacrifice of peace offerings, as an oblation to the Lord: the fat which covers the vital organs, and whatever fat is interior,

the two kidneys with the fat that covers the sides, and the mesh of the liver with the two little kidneys.

And they shall burn them upon the altar as a holocaust, placing fire under the wood, as an oblation of a most sweet odor to the Lord.

Yet truly, if his oblation and the sacrifice of peace offerings will be from the sheep, whether he will offer a male or a female, they shall be immaculate.

If he will offer a lamb in the sight of the Lord,

he shall place his hand upon the head of the victim. And it shall be immolated at the vestibule of the tabernacle of the testimony. And the sons of Aaron shall pour its blood all around the altar.

And they shall offer from the victim of peace offerings, as a sacrifice to the Lord: the fat, and the entire rump

with the kidneys, and the fat that covers the abdomen, and all the vital organs, and both the little kidneys with the fat that is near the sides, and the mesh of the liver with the little kidneys.

And the priest shall burn them upon the altar, as fuel for the fire and as an oblation of the Lord.

If his oblation will be a goat, and he will offer it to the Lord,

he shall place his hand upon its head, and he shall immolate it at the entrance of the tabernacle of the testimony. And the sons of Aaron shall pour its blood all around the altar.

And they shall take from it, to feed the Lord’s fire: the fat which covers the abdomen, and that which covers all the vital organs,

the two little kidneys with the mesh that is over them near the sides, and the fat of the liver with the little kidneys.

And the priest shall burn them upon the altar, as nourishment for the fire and as a most sweet odor. All the fat shall be for the Lord;

by a perpetual law, in your generations and in all of your habitations, neither blood nor fat shall you eat at all.(b)

(a)3:1 Peace offerings:Peace, in the scripture language, signifies happiness, welfare or prosperity; in a word, all kind of blessings.--Such sacrifices, therefore, as were offered either on occasion of blessings received, or to obtain new favours, were called pacific or peace offerings. In these, some part of the victim was consumed with fire on the altar of God; other parts were eaten by the priests and by the persons for whom the sacrifice was offered.(Challoner)

Das Friedensopfer

(3. Mose 7,11-21)

Ist seine Opfergabe ein Friedopfer und er will sie von den Rindern darbringen, so mag es ein männliches oder weibliches Tier sein, doch nur ein fehlerfreies bringe er dem Herrn dar.

Und er soll die Hand auf den Kopf seines Opfertieres legen und es am Eingange des Zeltes des Zeugnisses schlachten; und die Söhne Aarons, die Priester, sollen das Blut rings um den Altar gießen.

Alsdann sollen sie dem Herrn vom Friedopfer als Gabe das Fett darbringen, welches die Eingeweide bedeckt, und alles Fett, das sonst innen ist,

die beiden Nieren mit dem Fette, das die Weichen bedeckt, und das Netz um die Leber mit den Nieren;

und sollen, indem sie das Holz anzünden, es auf dem Altare als Brandopfer verbrennen, als ein Opfer süßen Geruches für den Herrn.

Ist aber sein Opfer ein Friedopfer von Schafen, so soll es ein fehlerfreies männliches oder weibliches Tier sein, das er opfert.

Bringt er dem Herrn ein Lamm dar,

so soll er seine Hand auf den Kopf seines Opfertieres legen und es am Eingange des Zeltes des Zeugnisses schlachten; und die Söhne Aarons, die Priester, sollen das Blut desselben rings um den Altar ausgießen.

Hierauf sollen sie von dem Friedopfer dem Herrn das Fett und den ganzen Schwanz als Gabe darbringen,

nebst den Nieren, und das Fett, das den Bauch mit sämtlichen Eingeweiden bedeckt, und beide Nieren mit dem Fette, das an den Weichen ist und das Netz um die Leber mit den Nieren.

Und dies alles soll der Priester verbrennen auf dem Altare als Nahrung für das Feuer und als Opfer für den Herrn.

Besteht aber sein Opfer in einer Ziege, die er dem Herrn darbringt,

so soll er seine Hand auf ihren Kopf legen und sie am Eingange des Zeltes des Zeugnisses schlachten, und die Söhne Aarons sollen ihr Blut rings um den Altar ausgießen.

Hierauf sollen sie davon zur Nahrung des Feuers des Herrn das Fett nehmen, welches den Bauch bedeckt und alle Eingeweide umgibt,

beide Nieren mit dem Netze, welches um dieselben an den Weichen ist, und das Fett der Leber mit den Nieren.

Dies alles soll der Priester auf dem Altare verbrennen zur Nahrung des Feuers und zum süßen Geruche. Alles Fett soll dem Herrn gehören;

dies gelte als ewige Satzung bei euch von Geschlecht zu Geschlecht, und in allen euren Wohnsitzen; weder Blut noch Fett sollt ihr je essen.
